body heat meme

Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

He frowned a little. What if she did not feel the same? And the King's disapproval was but a graceful excuse to refuse him?
"But... I would never wish to cause you harm. Perhaps you do not feel the same, and do not wish to risk his... displeasure."
He felt it was worth it, but perhaps she did not.

Her eyes drifted downward to her own hands before looking back at him. “I have had to guard my heart for so long. See it from my perspective. If my king forbids me, what am I to do? If you listen to him and find another, I do not know how I would bare that,” she told him.

"I understand, but Tauriel..." He paused for a second, taking a deep breath before continuing. He had not intended to declare his feelings for her on this patrol, in fact it had been quite the opposite. He had been just as guarded with his own thoughts, not wanting to put her in an awkward position. However, sitting here, this close, he found it impossible to hold back any more. He was about to put his heart in her hands, it would be up to her what to do with it.
"There could be another. You have my heart, whether my father approves or not. I have told you, he does not commend us in this matter. And if he stands against us, and orders us away, then so be it. I would rather follow my heart with you, than follow my father and one day perhaps wear his crown."
no subject
“You would truly do that for me? Come between your father? Forsake your birthright?” She asked. Tauriel was normally a confident person, but in this she needed to know for sure. They would be leaving everything behind if Thranduil did try and separate them, forbade them, or did actually exile them.

And he meant every word.

“Then perhaps it is worth it, to explore what I’ve never let myself feel,” she replied softly. “I do wish things were different. That it does not come to such drastic measures. But should it— should we find ourselves in such a position, I would be by your side.”
Nothing else truly frightened her, and if anything they already knew they were the best partners. They made each other stronger naturally.

"Then what else could I need, so long as you are with me?" He gently kissed her forehead, then smiled, meeting her eyes. "I daresay none can stand against us when we are together."

Her smile was small, but soft. She could feel the warmth between them, and she let it settle there. It was a calming moment, intimate in a way they have not yet been. "Nothing should stand in our way," she replied, her mood lighter.
no subject
Sensing how the mood had lightened, he felt more comfortable and at home with her once more. It was a relief to finally say what had been on his mind for so long, and he felt giddy with anticipation for what was to come.
Finally, he was no longer able to resist, and he placed a light kiss to her forehead once more, before kissing her lips as well. It was a light and passing sort of kiss. He wanted to be sure the gesture was welcome before he act more passionately.
"I am almost glad for this storm. This conversation was long overdue."
no subject
"Admittedly I had been avoiding it for some time, though I had suspected as much," she told him. It was safe to say that everything would change from this point.
Looking back at the entrance of the cave, she could see the storm raging on. Commenting on the weather, she advises, "We may still be here for awhile."
no subject
Looking outside for a moment, he nodded, agreeing with her. The weather looked even worse than before. The storm was raging outside, but he felt warm and somewhat content in the little cave.
"It seems so. It is far too wild outside to risk venturing out." He then looked back at her, smiling a little and slipping an arm around her to draw her nearer, and pulled the blanket closer around the two of them.
"At least I have good company."
no subject
"I think you are the only one I could sit so close to," she told him. Even if she just barely exploring how she truly felt about him, she could never be this close with anyone else. This just seemed to feel natural, another confirming fact that this was meant to be.

He looked over at her, watching how the firelight reflected the copper in her hair. It suited her, and he could not resist catching on of those strands and carefully tucking it behind her ear.
"There is no one I would rather sit with." He told her with a smile. "In good weather or bad."
no subject
"I would prefer warmer weather, but sitting fireside is... oddly comforting," she said. Romance may not have been her style, but it was fitting now that they were comfortably resting with one another. She could easily stay like this until they fell asleep together.
no subject
He rather liked that she was not overly romantic. They could just be comfortable together, like the old friends they were, without having to worry about impressing one another. Besides, she felt right there by his side.
"We shall have to do this more often." He hoped they could spend many more nights together like this. Well, perhaps not quite like this. He could do without the winter storm raging outside, but he would certainly enjoy sitting with her in front of a warm fire, or perhaps stargazing, many more nights in the future.
"Tauriel, when we return I wish to speak with my father and make my intentions known." He paused, looking over at her. "With your permission."
It seemed fair to ask, since declaring his feelings for the Captain openly would effect her just as much as himself.
no subject
"Of course. Do you wish me to be there?"
no subject
"I would like you there, but I am not sure it is entirely wise. What do you think?"
She had a different perspective on his father, and he valued her insight.
no subject
“But he may take it better coming from you. I will be there if you need me to, but it would be your decision, Legolas.”
no subject
He then paused for a moment, considering and playing out the conversation with Thranduil in his mind. "But I think perhaps I ought to talk to him alone first."
This was a conversation that needed to take place between father and son. It was not going to be easy. His father was fond of Tauriel, but he did not see her as a match for his son. To open his father's heart to the idea, he would need a great deal of convincing. The King was a private person, and so having this conversation between them alone first was probably the best course of action.
"Bursting into the throne room, with you by my side, declaring my love and devotion to you, no matter what he may say, probably is not the best idea."
no subject
Whatever he would need her for. Just like she knew he would always be there for her, as he had always been.

He doubted, however, that he would be able to quiet his mind. At the moment it was reeling with all that had transpired between them in the cave, with this open and honest conversation, and all the possibilities the future now held.
"In the morning, when the storm passes, we shall journey home."
