[There's a man in a three piece suit and heavy fur coat, sitting in the corner. His wary eyes scan the place, while patient, black-tipped fingers jot observations down on a yellow pad of paper. His plate has an ungodly amount of hashbrowns stacked on it.]
[ Across from the Collector sits one of his more recent acquisitions - an android in the shape of a brunette, human male somewhere between his early to mid-30s. He has been quiet since their arrival, seemingly content to sip his tea and stare out of the window of the Denny's into what may be a very late night or early morning. It's black enough that he is, in fact, making observations of what ( or rather, who ) is reflected in the glass, rather than the mysteries of what may be lurking in the darkness beyond.
There are a few other patrons here and David has taken them all into account, filing away various attributes and subsequent evaluations that just may never prove relevant. The most interesting subject, however, remains his fellow approximation of a man. About three minutes after the hash browns arrive, and the writing stops, he gives in to his curiosity. ]
Mister Tivan. [ Bright blue eyes shift, the motion odd for how they move just enough to focus perfectly on Taneleer. He blinks, lips forming a slight smile - a subroutine meant to ingratiate. His posh English accent furthers the image of benign politesse. ] Might I ask if there's something in particular that you are looking for?
I am equipped with quite a few analytical tools. Since you appear to be 'people-watching', perhaps it is most relevant to remind you of my sympathetic modules.
[ Much like his predecessor, Clippy, David is surely just trying to help. ]
[ Why was Denny's this crowded right now? God knows but anyways Gojyo isn't gonna be eating this delectable (?) double cheeseburger with fries in the parking lot or in the jeep like some kind of plebe. He spies Jessie's hair first, alone in a corner booth, and he walks up all confident with his tray in his hands. Gojyo leans on the table, takes a good look at her as he puts on his winningest smile. She's very cute; blue eyes, but that was better for him. ]
[ So does Rei, being a Full Blooded American (if a well-off one from New York), but that doesn't stop her from blinking a bit too much when she first enters. ]
...It's been a while since I visited one of these.
And without waiting for an answer, Yamamoto Takeshi slides into the booth across from the other man. He waves down a waitress, smiles charmingly at her, orders some tea and pancakes and then turns his attention to the other man.
He knows he has to look out of place; dressed in a nice suit (though he's forgone a tie) carrying a practice sword on his back. But he carries himself like he belongs.
Once the waitress is gone he steeples his fingers. "That was some impressive fingerwork two streets back," he said conversationally.
[ Steve is sitting at the counter, waiting for his food when he sees Joyce sitting at a booth. He wonders for a moment if he should bother her? Maybe she doesn't want to be bothered, or maybe she's waiting for someone. But she also looks like she could use a... familiar face? That's all he really is, a familiar face.
He tries to get her attention, tipping off his stool a little and giving her a small wave. ]
[A very light-haired man in a fur coat (two sizes too large) approaches; he does not smile, but his tone of voice remains soft. Like a trainer approaching a very small animal.] Do you often consume so many sweets in one sitting?
[ Clary finds herself with a lot of things on her mind. She can't sleep and so she ends up taking a walk. It's not the smartest venture but then the lights of Denny's catch her eyes. She smiles and she remembers having some snacks in the wee hours there with her mother, with Simon. It's been a long time since she's gone there.
It feels weird to walk in alone and it's not very busy. In fact, there's only one other person around and it doesn't appear that the blonde has ordered yet.
Well... she walks over to the booth -- there's a sign that had indicated she should seat herself. ]
