Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... [ One of the first things Pam bought for herself - and by 'for herself' the narration means 'not related to her work in any way' - was a bed big enough for the orgies she'll never have because she can't stand most other people long enough to bother getting off, much less getting off with them present.

The next thing she bought? Was a giant claw-footed bathtub, also big enough for the orgies she'd never have.

Then, of course, she promptly forgot about it in the midst of her work, terrorizing eco-assholes, and avoiding bat-shaped people in the night.

At some point, she turned it into a workstation and it's only gone a bit downhill from there, but tonight? Oh. Tonight she plans on using it because Harl called and the last time she came over they tested a lot of lipsticks. For several hours. Halfway through they weren't even wearing lipstick anymore, and Pam couldn't be bothered to put more on when she was just going to kiss it off Harl's lips as quickly or as slowly as possible, depending on which made the other woman squirm more.

She's not sure what's up or why Harl's entire weekend suddenly opened up but Pam figures if she's not interested in some of the more fun aspects of getting out of her clothes and the greasepaint they can at least wash off the stink of Gotham's underworld together. It'll be nice.

Pam has already forgone clothing and is stting next to the tub, testing the warmth with her finger when she hears Harleen come through the door. ]

The only reason why she's even taking a shower is because she thought it would be easier than trying to reach her back in the bath, but she was wrong.

Their most recent battle had been a rough one, the kind of battle where Natasha realizes halfway through that the only reason she's still alive is dumb luck, and how much longer can she really rely on that? It was another assignment that she took on alone with Rogers and she always feels safer on the field with him there, but close calls are inevitable in some situations and, yes, she's shaken.

It'll pass. The adrenaline is just starting to wear off when she starts to rinse her hair, pain arising in parts of her body that she hadn't realized she had overextended until now. She almost manages, but her arm pangs painfully in protest every time she tries to make use of it, and for a few minutes she simply stands under the spray of water wondering whether or not she should ask for help. Steve has always had her back but not on this level, and asking the man who gets uppity about shoes on the dashboard to help her in the shower seems like a bad idea on the surface.

Natasha gets out anyway. Her motivations aren't strictly practical although she doesn't plan on admitting as much aloud, but she's felt something. Not a spark necessarily, more like a slowly moving current beneath the surface that gradually grew into a powerful rapid when she wasn't looking, and she's not one to ignore that sort of temptation. She really does need assistance, but she certainly isn't shy about asking for it.

She leaves the water running as she wraps a towel around herself, padding barefoot into the small two bed motel room that they got for the night before their scheduled extraction the next morning. She sees him with his back turned, and for a moment Natasha considers turning around and walking back into the bathroom alone; the option is quickly disregarded.

"Hey." She says the word flatly to get his attention, and when she has it she tosses her head in the direction of the bathroom only once. "I think I hurt my arm, I need your help." No chance to respond is given before she's already turning around and walking back into the bathroom, obviously expecting him to follow her by the way she leaves the door open. If he wants to turn her down, he can do so in there.
