[ I love assumed CR, crossovers (♥ ♥ ♥), convoluted scenarios, combustive attraction, bickering, first time, arranged marriage AUs, culture differences, ingenue/gruff, worldly man, inhuman characters, Beauty and the Beast dynamics because duh, fairy tale/fantasy settings, magic, passionate reunions, redoing first times that didn't go so well. sneaky trysts, risk of discovery, emotions spilling out in private, and much, much more.

Ridiculously into Tolkienverse (dwarves yes pls), ASOIAF/GOT, HP (my kingdom for a Newt Scamander or Lupin), and MCU right now and equally into AUing Belle to fit in any of them, but check out my slightly embarrassing dream list of shit I'd like to play. ]

Like almost every slur, "skinjob" was entirely unoriginal and somehow even more obnoxious for that. Adam had been more and more irritated by the graffiti on his neighbor's door. It took reminding himself it would only instigate more problems if he washed it or painted over it. Besides that, K hadn't asked him to do anything about it. Adam knew he had a habit of nosily butting into other people's business.

But K wasn't just some person, he wasn't just a neighbor anymore. Adam didn't know what K was to him but it fell under the vague term of more. More and more and more, really. Adam couldn't stop thinking about him. He refused to acknowledge that some of that might be his naturally addictive personality. Once he had something that good, once he cared for someone that deeply, just letting-go was almost impossible for him.

Being as they were next-door neighbors that should have been easy to indulge. The problem was that part of the reason they hadn't spoken the entire time they'd been neighbors, kept them apart now: their jobs. When Adam wasn't making sudden flights across country, K was tracking down who-knew-what leads for his own kind. It always seemed as if one, if not the other, was going or gone all the time. It had in fact been nearly a week since the night K's nightmare had brought Adam over to check on him.

Adam found himself standing outside his own apartment door, staring at the glaring graffiti on K's door, with an unquenchable need to see the replicant. He frowned at himself and stared down towards the toes of his boots. There was a small chance he could catch him at his LAPD office but Adam had no excuse to go there. Something kept him from outright calling K, some kind of protective gut-feeling that it wouldn't be good for K if he did. It might raise questions which the replicant didn't need.

Finally after another few seconds of indecision, Adam cursed himself for his obsessive behavior, and went into his apartment. Instead of calling K directly, he carefully hacked into the Joi system next door and instead left a message for K with the holographic girlfriend: Let me know when you're home.
