Take It Slow Smut Meme (inspired by an anon comment by a Hulk player and damn it's hard to find gifts from Hulk 2008.)
There are plenty of memes about skipping to the good part, rushing to sex, being desperate for it, and so on. But what about taking things slow? Some people enjoy that, as well, and still others have need to keep their calm - they're inexperienced and not completely ready or they can't get knock-out, drag-down excited for reasons that can get a bit...dangerous. Or the slowness could be nothing serious; foreplay could just be the word of the day. Then, you'll want to enjoy your time together and not run through the motions of a good time 'till its spent too soon.
They say all good comes to those who wait, so savor every moment and wait for the inevitable to come.

“Some do not take quite the measures you have,” she replied, her eyes meeting his. She was used to flattery, but in true she was both impressed and intrigued with him. “Is this not what you wanted? I saw the way your eyes would find mine throughout the night.”
If he was expecting some sort of game, Victoria didn’t play so easily. Instead as they step in closer together, she watched him closer. “I’ve been told your from America. I hope your travels have faired you well.” She was hoping for some kind of information from him. Was he visiting? He was a Captain after all. Was he staying in London? She didn’t ask directly, but Victoria was hoping a natural conversation would form from her curiosities.

Jack, in whom seduction practically oozed from every pore quite naturally, had thoroughly enjoyed the challenge of learning to hone and refine it. He was also naturally musical and dancing came easily to him. It was one major reason why he'd been picked for this job.
His hand was steady and reassuring on her lower back, effortlessly guiding her round the floor, avoiding collisions and even putting in a few extra twists and spins for fun.
"You do rather draw the eye, your Majesty," he murmured, with complete truth. Victoria, so young and vibrant, almost radiated energy and hope for her country.
He needed to make sure she had the chance to fulfil that promise.
He grinned at her enquiry about his travels, slowing their movement somewhat as she stepped in closer. "It was a long trip," he admitted, also with complete truth. "But worth it for getting to be here at the start of something so great. Your reign has such huge potential ahead of it. It would be dreadful if anything were to get in the way of that."
((OOC: I am so sorry for the long silence! It's been a hell of a week, but hopefully I have my brain back now!))

What a curious thing to say.
“And why would something get in the way of that,” she posed back, a little more skeptical now. Was this a warning or was he personally involved in something she should know about?
ooc: no worries.

He shrugged and gave her a rueful smile, even as he gently coaxed her back into the dance, determined that no-one watching (those Xlorians had eyes everywhere, literally) would take any notice of that slight check she'd made at his last statement.
"There are always people who want to take power away from those who have it," he said regretfully. "And you have a coronation coming up. I'm very much afraid that you may be in danger, your Majesty."

“What would you have me do?” she asked in response. His answer could be telling after all. If he was expecting her to not attend her own coronation, then she would likely dismiss him right there. She was queen. And while it was already hard for her even ask, to be led by someone else, she truly did need guidance here.

"Well, ideally you should postpone the coronation and stay safely indoors until I've managed to neutralise the threat, your Majesty," he said, a little droll because he was already aware he had a kindred spirit in Victoria and there was no way she would go for so restrictive a plan. He shrugged, those same blue eyes now alight with wry humour, twinkling down at her.
"But obviously that's not going to happen." A quick grin. "So second best would be for you to have someone you trust check out all the people who can get close to you here in the palace, and meanwhile give me access to do my own investigations." He sobered again, his hand tightening fractionally, almost protectively, on her back as if keeping her close in the dance would protect her from the threat. "There are imposters here somewhere, your Majesty. It's vital that we find them before it's too late."
((OOC: Again, so sorry, I've been really ill, but I love your Victoria and would love to see where this can go. :-) ))

Luckily he seemed more reasonable and realized that simply was not an option for her. The purse in her lips seemed to relax. "I will have Lord Melborne see to all precautions," she told him, her eyes glancing back to her Prime Minister before focusing her attention back on Jack.
"You will stay here for the time being then. I will give you access to whatever you need. All I ask is that you keep nothing from me. I assure you, I can handle more than most think I can," she told him self assured. The last thing she needed was to be kept out of the loop on her own safety.
The song began to end, and she curtseyed low. She knew all eyes were still on them. When she stood, ending the dance, she straightened. "Meet me out back shortly," she told him. It would look too suspicious if she kept engaging with him here.
ooc: no problem! I like where this is going. most often I backtag until oblivion anyway. Especially if a muse is strong. :)

He didn't object. Victoria needed someone like Melbourne to advise and guide her.
"Thank you," he said warmly, and grinned down at her. "And don't worry, you shall yourself be my liaison on this. That's why I wanted to come to you direct in the first place. Who else could I trust on this better than you?"
He stepped back as the dance ended, bending into a reverent bow, keeping up the charade of formality even as he inclined his head slightly to acknowledge her instruction. "My pleasure, Majesty," he murmured, ostensibly thanking her for the dance, but he knew she would also construe it as agreement to meet her.
One last smile and then he was gone. When Victoria finally managed to slip away, she would find him waiting for her, a lot of the over-the-top effervescence gone and a much more sober look in his eyes.
((OOC: Excellent!))

Before long she was able to sneak away to the outside courtyard. The cool night air nipped slightly at her exposed skin, but with all the layers she was wearing, it kept her mostly warm. At the very least the night sky was clear.
Finding him rather easily, she dipped her head. Likewise a lot of the airs she put on have seemingly left. Victoria's head was lifted, ready for whatever may come, but without the bright lights and the people about her, she felt almost smaller. Especially when she stood next to him now.
"Captain Jack," she greeted him. It's no surprise though that her guards were already at the entrance. Just as a precaution. After all she had only just met him and already they were talking about her safety. She needed to safeguard herself on all accounts until she could be sure that she could trust him explicitly.

"Your Majesty," he smiled, moving towards her. "Thank you for agreeing to meet me."
He kept his body language easy and charming for the sake of the guards, his hand coming down to rest lightly on Victoria's waist to guide her away from them. He was fine with them watching; he just didn't want them to hear the conversation. At least until he'd had a chance to vet them himself and check they weren't Xlorians in disguise.

"Come," she told him. "We have much to discuss, and I know not where to start."
