STUCK IN YOUR COSTUME
It's that time of year again -
Halloween! And what better time to pull out the tropic 'you are now your costume' meme? Because that's what's happening, boys and girls. At the stroke of midnight on All Hallows Eve, everyone gets turned into their costume. Sure, that doesn't sound so bad, does it? If you're a dragon or a princess, maybe. But what if you're that genius that went as a partner costume? Or what if you went as a walking dildo? Might want to rethink that costume choice before the clock strikes twelve, because until the sun rises over the horizon, you are now your costume.
- Step one - Put your character name and preferences in the subject line
- Step two - Pick a costume. (Put it in the subject line or your comment)
- Step three - Tag around and react to other suddenly-costumed characters
Happy Halloween

Danny had plenty of costume options but he really wanted to spend at least a little bit of time on Halloween in this one. Instead of fabric this costume was made of hollow plastic and included a working battery powered light in the chest. It took a little struggling and wiggling to get into the suit. While it was supposed to be his size it was stiff enough that it didn't agree entirely with his muscular stature even when he wore the bare minimum under it. It took some stretching to reach the closure in the back but thankfully he was more flexible than the average person and he closed it up with a zip and a snap. On went the helmet and an excited pose in front of a mirror. No one would know it was him.
Colleen's students totally knew it was him. Who else would be walking with her to the Halloween party one of the local businesses near the dojo was hosting? Danny had them swear secrecy and they all had a giggle over it. None of the strangers at the party knew any better, most of them were distracted complimenting him and Colleen on their costumes. He was tempted at moments by the food table but steeled himself and resorted to gazing longingly instead.
Midway through the party someone ran into the building in a panic, telling everyone to keep the doors closed. At the end of the street there's a robbery at the jewelers! There are five of them at least all wearing animal masks! They've got guns and everything. The store owner is still in there!
Danny turns to Colleen. His face is still hidden but he imagines she knows what he's thinking without saying anything. ]

She had taken a few pictures of Danny's Iron Man costume. It had certainly come out better than she had initially thought it would. It was no small wonder that everyone seemed to compliment them on their costumes, though she knew most of it was directed towards him.
She was about to offer to sneak Danny some food somehow when she heard the news of the robbery. Immediately she glanced over at him, knowing what he'd have in mind. They needed to get out of here and try to help. But first they needed to get Danny out of that suit!
She pulled him towards a back corner of the room. After all, everyone seemed to be milling around the front doors]
You get the helmet, I'll unzip the back.
[She figured it would be easier that way. She was wrong. For some reason she couldn't seem to get the clasp undone and the zipper was stuck. The irony of the situation coaxed a small laugh]
Danny, I think you're stuck.
[It was no laughing matter, but still she could appreciate how bizarre this was. Danny Rand stuck in an Iron Man costume]
I can try to tear it open if you're okay with that.

Do it.
[ He hopes she can rip it. The person who made the costume did what they could to hide the zipper between the plastic pieces, leaving just enough space for the slim zipper line. He moves his arms forward and tries to arch his back so the valley between the "armor" sections are spread as much as possible to make room for her to grip and tear the underlying fabric. The fabric itself was comfortable, whatever it was, but whether or not it would tear easily had yet to be seen. ]
