Clark isn't the hugest fan of Gotham.

He's out of cash, so he's been here for a bit doing odd jobs, bar tending when he can, working towards the next plane ticket that'll let him shift one continent over to continue his search and it's going more slowly than he'd like. The fact that the city is that much darker for people like him, that it seems like something out of a noir film in black and white, doesn't make it any better and he'd told his co-worker just yesterday that if he thought he could find something over in Metropolis, he would. But Gotham doesn't ask for ID nearly so much as Metropolis does and given the kind of questions he asks and the work he's doing, he'll just stick with dark and gloomy over ruining Clark Kent's reputation any day.

And then it happens.

Then, a passel of customers walk in in a group, the stink of overbearing cologne stinging his nose from where he stands, and his senses nearly knock him off his feet as the change rocks through him. It's like being eight again and suddenly looking through his science teacher and he needs a moment to collect himself, breathing slowly, before he can adjust to the world as he sees it now.

Once he can function again, he starts looking around. Because whether he likes this city or not, there's now something very important to be found here and he aims to find it.
