Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... [The rare night that they got on their own after everything had happened and for it to be quiet enough, with days off that actually synched up with one another? That was a rare thing indeed. When it finally came up, Barry definitely takes advantage of it, speeding off to Star City as soon as he could. As soon as he arrived at Oliver's place, he heaved a deep sigh and let himself in.

The weight of the week had settled into his bones. So he makes his way into the bathroom and runs the tap for a bath in the large and luxurious bath. He begins to shed his sweater, his button up, everything else that just felt like the world, essentially shedding everything away.]

Ollie?

[It had taken a long time for them to get back to normal, or at least normal enough for the two of them. Though, it helped that right now Oliver was technically retired from being the Green Arrow, trusting in his team to handle things from now on. He still had to deal with being a father, the mayor, and being under an FBI investigation, but it made things a little easier on his end, especially when Barry could run over for a break.

He'd just put William to bed before making his way back to his bedroom, losing his tie, his shirt, and everything but his pants along the way as he steps into the bathroom, wrapping an arm around Barry's waist and pulling him back against his chest, resting his head on the speedster's shoulder and pressing his lips to the side of his neck.]

Didn't mean to keep you waiting.

[He smiled slightly against Barry, taking a moment to just enjoy the closeness for how rarely they could just relax together for once.]

[As soon as he feels the presence of Oliver and that steady arm around his waist, Barry melts right against him, letting his own hand cover Oliver's as a means for comfort. The tenseness in his own shoulders seem to just fade away. Barry closes his eyes and reaches up to run his fingers through the short locks. They both needed this]

Wasn't waiting too long.

[His perception of time still needs to settle after being freed from the speed force prison; he was surprised he arrived on time at all. The feeling of Oliver, solid and warm against his back, was worth it. The steam and scent of mint and eucalyptus began to fill the air]

[Barry's perception of time had always been a little bit off, but Oliver was used to it. Really, it surprised him more lately that Barry was on time ever since he returned. He wasn't going to complain, though. It just meant that they had a little more time to share in moments like this, when he can just wrap his arms a little tighter around Barry to keep them both grounded.]

I figure it makes up for all the other times, right? William is finally asleep, by the way. So we have all night.

[He leans in to press his lips to the back of Barry's neck, breathing in the other's scent, which relaxed him more than the oils in the bath.]

[He chuckles softly. He liked spending time with William, especially when he comes over and they get to play Flash verses everything. The kid had an amazing imagination and it was great to take the kid around the precinct and introduce him to all of the cops. Even Captain Singh apparently had a weak spot for kids. He sighs and leans into the kiss.]

Then I think we should stay in this bath until we're both all pruney.

[The fact that Barry and William got along, outside of being the Flash, meant a lot to Oliver. His son was now one of the most important parts of his life, and really, Barry being around made it easier when he still feels like he's constantly screwing up the whole parenting thing.

He kisses Barry again, this time right under his ear, before he pulls back just enough to let the speedster turn around so he can kiss him properly.]

And then fall into bed together after?

[Another kiss, but it was slow and easy, lacking the heat and urgency they often felt when they were pulling off each others uniforms and trying to make the most of the short amount of time they usually had together.]

[He turns and returns his kisses, taking it slow for once and enjoying it.]

Now that...sounds like a plan. Captain Singh apparently said that I needed a weekend off since I have been catching up on all of the work that's been backed up for the last six months.

[He puts his arms around Oliver's shoulders and walks the both of them to the bath.]

That means I'm all yours for the entire weekend, Mr. Mayor.
