❧ If there's a specific set of circumstances you like best, set the scene.

It's advised that he take one of the girls from Hoshido, to help further implement that there will always be peace between the two nations. And it's not a bad idea by any means. But Laslow claims he has a better princess in mind and she's a superior match than any of the fine ladies to the South. So he claims.
With his retainer still keeping his secrets close to the vest about how he knows of this country and kingdom, Xander is brought to the Kingdom of Ylisse. Which houses beautiful bright green fields and a stunning blue sky that is so very different than the icy landscape and dark skies of Nohr. If the Ylissian harvests are good this would be an excellent kingdom to be attached to and would help out his own and all their hardships. Laslow may have actually been onto something here.
But meeting this princess in question is... a bit nerve wracking. It's been a long time since he felt so uneasy about speaking with someone. He'd overcome such nervous tendencies but every now and then they creep back up through the strong foundations that Nohrian prince has built up through great effort. Speaking with the princess of what appears to be a very pleasant and peaceful country should not be difficult and after all the trials that have come and gone... This should be easy.
Unfortunate that Laslow has run off leaving him alone with Peri in this throne room. And Peri is one distraction away from wandering off to explore this very impressive castle. He loves his retainers dearly but he couldn't imagine a less opportune time for them to be their usual selves. There isn't time to hunt down Laslow or scold Peri as he can hear approaching footsteps which instantly make the prince stiffen, standing tall with his hands clasped firmly behind his back. It sound as if it is just one pair so it can either be this King Chrom that he's heard so much about or the princess herself which his retainer has failed to talk all that much about.]

Father, Inigo? Where did you say-
[She paused mid sentence realizing that whom she was about to ask about was there in the throne room. She stiffened up herself before realizing that it may look bad before tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear.]
I believe you must be Xander, yes? I'm Lucina.
[Looking around the room she realized that there was a lack of presence from the kingdom of Ylisse.]
I apologize about the wait, how was your trip in?
no subject
Yes, that's right. Prince Xander. It's a pleasure to meet you, Princess Lucina. [The Nohrian prince bows his head politely to her. However he is unable to find it in him to be so casual about their titles just yet. That would be a bit unbecoming for a prince.] And the journey was... interesting. I'm glad to have finally made it to your home. And a beautiful home it is. Nohr is a snowy and can be a rather stormy kingdom so this is quite literally a breath of fresh air.
[He smiles as he's uncertain what else to say. Introductions. Pleasantries. Then what...?]
I... I'm sorry. You seem to be in the middle of something. I hope my company and I haven't arrived too early. I don't mind waiting until you or your father are ready...
If this isn't okay I can redo it.
[She hadn't been called that title in a long time. In fact, she was looking nervous about being called as such now. ]
Ah, you must be referring to the actual Princess Lucina, I just share her namesake.
[This wasn't her kingdom, at least not in this timeline. It was a miracle that Chrom and her mother convinced her to stay in the meantime. She promised to be present at least until restoration had been completed but funny enough the project seemed to drag it's feet slower and slower by the day. Something she was sure was on purpose by now. Some of her friends had disappeared, just like how she promised she would, but one came back and brought 'friends'. That friend just so happened to be a prince and this 'princess' was no fool.]
Princes Xander, please forgive me for the slip of my tongue.
[She gave a deep, graceful curtsy before rising again. Though she tilted her head while bowing her head to have her bangs cover the left side of her face.]
I am never too busy for guests who grace our kingdom. If you would like to follow along I believe we were setting up inside of our garden a welcoming high tea for you to enjoy. Unless that doesn't sound pleasant to you?
It's great~
You needn't apologize, Pr- [Not princess then. And he can't just call her Lucina. That would be most disrespectful] My... lady. Tea, would be quite pleasant after the journey. [And it sounds incredibly lovely too. Tea in a garden and considering how pretty the long stretches of plains are a secluded area full of flowers must be truly magnificent.]
I must admit though I find myself a bit confused.. [He moves to follow her lead.] It seems my retainer, Laslow, hasn't filled me in completely. Or perhaps I misunderstood. [It's definitely the former though.] I certainly hope he was not too pushy about a meeting... He can be quite troublesome. But he said he's known you for quite some time so I am sure you're well aware of his nature.

[She said his new name firmly, perhaps for herself if anything. The woman was trying to hide the bit of displeasure she had felt as she lead them. She was pondering what both her father and the other man were thinking with this. This wasn't her kingdom, her's was in another timeline completely as there was no going back unless Naga helped. She hadn't heard from the Divine Dragon since right before they defeated Grima.]
Laslow was not pushy in the least about the meeting, if anything it was nice to see an old friend.
[The mercenary seemed to have found himself a bit of happiness, something she admired and encouraged with her friends now that their future was not bleak and filled with a fallen dragon's wrath. Finally after a bit of walking and a few turns, they were in the garden. Chrom was there with his wife as well as Laslow. Giving a friendly wave to them she then gestured to the table.]
Please sit where you'd like.
[Chrom stood and gave the man a warm welcome while Lucina took a seat next to Laslow. If Xander was keen, he'd see her give the man a stare that could very well kill.]
no subject
Xander would be right there glaring with Lucina but he needs to be courteous and gracious to his hosts, King Chrom and his queen. Subtle bows and quick pleasantries about the kingdom and the journey. The usual introductions.
But now that he's seated there needs to be some proper discussion and the air needs to be cleared as he's probably the only one here who has no idea what's going on. He may not be able to offer his own icy stare at his retainer but Laslow will definitely have a lecture or two once they're on their own.]
As said, I am happy to be here but I must beg your pardon as I think some information has been lost in translation, so to speak. When my retainer mentioned all this he said that it would be princess Lucina but the lady I have met claims not to be her. [It's all quite confusing. A Lucina but not the Lucina.] Marriages are arranged to benefit the kingdoms. Ylisse clearly could offer a great deal to my kingdom that struggles due to the weather and the constant winter like season. And surely Nohr can offer your kingdom a great deal as well. Military prowess and weaponry. But these negotiations only work when royals wed. If this is not the Princess Lucina then Nohr gains nothing from this arrangement and that would be a disservice to my people. My marriage must be to help my kingdom, that is imperative.
[Hoshido is right across the way and a far more realistic prospect. Though it would put a great deal of burden on their kingdom to make enough crops for two kingdoms it's the more reasonable solution. He's only here because Laslow insisted this would work but there are clearly some details that have been left unspoken of.
He is not so lucky to have someone arrange his marriage for him. His father is gone as are many advisors and his dear mother. He has to make good choices not for himself but for the kingdom, harsh as that may sound to a potential future bride it is the realistic path and the one he's been raised to follow. You do things for the kingdom, not for you. Now that the kingdom is in his hands he must follow that creed all the more. Everyone is counting on him to find a good match that will benefit those that need it the most.]

The information that I'm about to say, please keep at this table...While I am Royalty from Ylisse, it is not of this Ylisse but of a time in the future where the Fell Dragon Grima destroyed everything. We were blessed by Naga and sent to the past to save this world and went back to a time where we could intervene and steer a new future and be able to defeat him...We have not been called by Naga to go back yet. Father has graciously let me stay here but I should have no right to this kingdom and everything should belong to the aforementioned Princess Lucina. I have mentioned before that I don't want to take anything that belongs to little Luci.
[He was trying to give her a birthright she had no right to by the looks of it. Marrying their kingdoms would look good and Prince Xander seemed like he had his heart in the right place. He would do anything for his kingdom as would she, if Chrom wanted it them she would consider it, but she didn't feel like she had the rights to it.]
no subject
But one day you will have to go back, yes? You and Laslow and the other retainers that serve my siblings that came with him that day? Or do you have a say? [He gives a slight shake of the head, this is complicated but...] If you don't have a say then do you return to your time where everything is destroyed? You too Laslow? That's certainly no life... I suspect that if I were you two I would try and make the moments where I am count the most. But if you do have a say then perhaps instead of thinking of yourself as someone who is taking away from your other you could think of her as a sister. The Lucina of this world will be the crowned princess but you are still you. Being here doesn't change that. You could be considered just another princess of Ylisse. My siblings will be married off some day and that will insure alliances with other kingdoms. With your existence, though it may not technically belong here, can still be an asset to the kingdom. Where Ylisse only had one princess it now has two. One that will grow up and be the Queen and yourself, who certainly cannot stay in this kingdom forever but there is no need to returned to a ruined kingdom not when Nohr and Ylisse could help each other a great deal.
I have told Laslow that I do not mind if he has to someday leave unexpectedly... I would of course be quite sad. He's very loyal and kind. Quite troublesome but of good heart, I think. My only condition is that wherever he goes he continues to draw breath. But if this place you both intend to return to is a place of ruin then I am afraid that won't do. I would have him stay in Nohr. And I would insist that you consider this arrangement. There are more options than returning to a destroyed kingdom and you cannot stay here as that might be difficult for the princess Lucina of this time. But this arrangement is not taking anything from her. If she's only five I will have hoped to have found a queen and have heirs by the time she's suitable to be considered for marriage. You would still be a princess of Ylisse but also, should you still be willing, a Queen of Nohr.
[He's not sure why he's fighting for this as it's all rather confusing. And he should have probably prepared to leave after hearing her story of strange time travel. But her story seems sad and difficult. All the retainers that came from this unknown land hold a sadness to them. Laslow carries it too. Why linger in it? Is it inevitable that they have to go back? Why return to a kingdom of ashes when you can start new lives. Maybe not the lives you were originally meant to have but better ones. You do not have to be bound by fate and you can carve a different path. That is what Corrin did. Surely it is possible for these children who have already traveled through time to change the destruction of their kingdom. Why not go a little further and find happiness?
It now makes sense why Laslow suggested princess Lucina of Ylisse. It would not only be bringing a friend back home to Nohr but it would be incredibly beneficial. The actual Lucina gets to rule her kingdom but there will still be ties that bind the two kingdoms without taking any crown prince or princess from their kingdom. It does work. Maybe he won't have to lecture his retainer quite so hard. But he is still absolutely getting a lecture.]

When and for what reason Naga calls on us solely depends on her will. It could be either to be as a soldier for a war that needs won or it could be to place us back in the time we came from. With that knowledge in mind though you still want to take me by your side...
[A smile that toyed on the edge of rueful crossed her lips before it seemed more genuine as she gazed up at Xander.]
I believe I'd be a fool to turn you down, especially with how well I heard your kingdom was treating my valued companions from Inigo-
[It was her turn to flinch, a confused look flashed before an embarrassed one replaced it.]
-Ah, I mean Laslow. Regardless, I would like to continue getting to know you better.

5, 1 - lemme know if this works
But then his side lost. Yet despite that, Hei saw this as a chance for freedom. He didn't care about the old kingdom and had no attachment to any of it, unable to recall even his folks. His sister living a good life was all that mattered to him. Whether it was by fleeing or bartering a deal, he kept waiting for every chance. And he certainly got one, the both of them used as bargaining troops so their captors could flee. Or maybe they were the last line of defense as they fled? Hei couldn't remember much as a swordswoman with blue hair had knocked him hard and made him hit his head against a rock.
By the time some deal was made, all he was told from his sister was to wait in the courtyard of the new castle. He had no complaints; better than in the dungeon. He was given enough clothing to help him dress sharply, though there was still some bandaging around his head. So long as he didn't fight, he'd be fine. For as peaceful as this place was, he was still uneasy about everything, not really knowing what awaited him. It could be easily seen from the normally level-headed ex-assassin, shifting his eyes and tapping his foot rapidly.]
Who does she even expect me to wait for? Could have given me more details than this...
perfect!
Are you Hei?
[She smiled before waving the knights to stay back. She never cared for a lot of protection, just for a sword by her side.]
I apologize for the entourage and keeping you waiting, I had to attend a peace negotiations as well as a war counsel. Now have you been briefed as to why you and your sister are here?
no subject
My sister told me nothing, wanting to keep it a surprise. But I assume you don't want us dead given our status at the moment. There's no doubt we lost anyway.
no subject
[The woman was seeming a bit nervous herself, shifting uneasily from side to side. It was as if she was about to be the bearer of bad news. Taking a deep breath, she stopped beating around the bush and looked into his eyes.]
While the two of you are indeed in our custody, it's not in a conventional way. Especially with how our war traditions are, and while we're trying to separate ourselves from the very much less excepted parts we haven't reached to where I personally can make those decisions, it's a counsel that does. But our country intends to support the two of you...Ah, what I'm trying to say is really is that the two of you have a choice to make, you can either leave or you'll become...er property, for lack of a better term, of the royal family.
no subject
What do you mean property? Like your own personal assassins or guards? Or is there something else I'm missing?
no subject
Something like that...I have a few more meetings to go to but I'll be meeting with you later on in the evening during dinner. I thought greeting you as soon as possible would be best.
[She was either too embarrassed to say or perhaps her time was truly short. Either way she waved goodbye before making her way back towards the knights. One looked ecstatic while the other one seemed like she couldn't care less. There were questions but she waved them off as she disappeared with them to go about her business.]
no subject
So he would go back to her, waiting until they were called upon for her dinner.]
Is the direction going okay for you?
How are the two of you doing today, being treated well I hope?
It's going fine! :)
I admit I had some doubts, but this castle is indeed impressive. Thanks again for taking care of us despite our previous fight.
[Does make him wonder though. Does Lucina even remember their scuffle? Maybe that was the reason for her nervousness?]
no subject
When Hei spoke, she glanced over at him before pointing at the spot she knew what hurt.]
I'm glad you think so, as well as it's no problem at all. How is your head by the way, have our healers been able to take a look at it yet?
