wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff.

the time travel meme
the question isn't where -- but when! for whatever reason, whether it be police boxes, deloreans, or magic, you and a companion (or, instead, you alone) have traveled to a different time. word of advice, if you meet yourself there, don't make eye contact. that'll wipe out time. entirely. forward and backward. so do both of yourselves a favour and just let that handsome devil go about his business.
• post with your character; list preferences, etc. etc.
• tag other people.
• go to rng for an option. or pick one of your heart's desire and say that you did. whateves.
• have fun and play out the timey-wimey shenanigans.
1. dinosaurs!; so maybe, perhaps spielberg got some things wrong with jurassic park. okay, a lot of things wrong. but, hey, at least these raptors can't operate doors.
2. dawn of civilization; the ice is receding, us humans are turning from a hunter/gatherer society to a more agrarian one, and the written word is being developed in the middle east. if you believe all those "ancient alien" theories, you're at the perfect time to enslave humanity to mine gold for you.
3. greco-roman; thermopylae! democracy! that dude that salad's named after! all of these await you in the era of togas and golden ratios.
4. medieval; chivalry, the black death, serfdom, just to name a few things that made this age simultaneously suck and rock. you can always go the route of a connecticut yankee in king arthur's court and insert some modern knowledge into these knights. or, alternatively, battle the undead like ash.
5. renaissance; you've probably heard of this era. michelangelo, da vinci, ezio auditore da firenze. plagues, wars, and social situations may only be marginally better and less deadly, but, hey, that's some pretty nice art.
6. age of enlightenment; y'know all the revolution stuff and isaac newton and the apple? yeah, this is when it happened.
7. regency/victorian/edwardian; repression, suppression, and a leap forward in the medical profession. men would leave calling cards, tip their hats, and help the ladies out of the carriages, while the ladies broke their ribs and squeezed their organs together for that perfect hourglass figure.
8. twentieth century; the aeroplane, the atomic bomb, and the polio vaccine are some of this century's greatest inventions, to name a few. so, billy pilgrim, stop by a talkie or the local soda jerk for some pretentious, 'we are so much better and civilized than the previous centuries but not really' talk, why don't you?
9. the present; oh, the world is getting so much smaller with upgrades to telephones, the internet, and transportation. stay a while and lol, wtf \:D/
10. future's so bright/gotta wear shades; insert futurama theme song here.
11. no difference between time and any of the three dimensions of space; you decide the time!
