[That's...that's a tough one! He loves a good barbecue. His baking skills aren't all there but for them to be gone entirely would be just as bad! He looks like he's about to answer...! But pauses to think again.]

...I would forget how to bake. It's not like I was ever that great at it. [He's going to miss baking pies and cakes at a passable level but Amanda and everyone will just have to settle for congratulatory burgers. Er, well...in this case:]

I've noticed how happy you get when I bring over panzanella.

[ oddly enough, it's always so charming to see him take such a question seriously - as if damien wouldn't do the exact same thing if he was asked to pick between a dewalt cordless drill or a milwalkee drill. ]

With a little more practice, your sweets could be wonderful, King. [ damien's no mat by any means necessary, but he has perfected scones and tea cakes. listen, it's very hard to come by perfect victorian tea snacks without having to make them yourself. it would be... edwardian to buy something not up to par. ]

[Barbeque warrants a serious, philosophical discussion that King can totally keep up with. And yes, cooking what he can for Damien is always worth it. That little glimmer in his eyes whenever King does something for him as if it's some rarity is cute.]

The Dadzanella [a name he 100% made up just now] is the first vegetable dish I could get Amanda to eat and enjoy it when she was younger. Maybe you can give me a few more pointers with scones. [Like, how to make it not seem like a flour factory exploded.]

[ see, damien was never too too interested in grilling as much as the others - perhaps it's due to most of the things being on there things he can't eat.. though he does have a grill, which is primarily used for vegetables and tofu. ]

The D- [ a hand is raised to his own mouth, covering the small chortle he gives. ] What a superb name. Hm.. Well. I'm free when you are. If.. you'd like, we can... ... perhaps, make a date of it? I - If not, of course, that's fine as well too-

[Not going to lie if asked, but he's been looking some veggie recipes with Damien in mind. He's still a carnivore at heart, but his meals have been looking more colorful lately thanks to this.

With a smile, he inches to be a little closer to Damien. Not touching, but closer.]

[ now he's going to have to make scones for the next x amount of days until they decide to have The Date and make a perfect recipe for him. No big deal, he'll just have to stay awake for the next 24 hours minimum.

[King isn't young enough anymore where he'd always be daring enough to do something that many would consider risky and/or outright stupid. But. Moments can happen where he can attempt to be cool and risk looking like a fool (which sounds like it could've been an album title from his Skammunist Manifesto days) by actually getting closer to hold Damien's hand.

Well, that's a bit of a stretch because baby steps, right? And he doesn't want to become too forceful so...okay, admittedly, Damien's reactions to the little things are especially sweet. So he's just reaching him with his index and middle finger, not quite fully grasping it yet.]

I'm good just about any time. If tonight's too soon, how about tomorrow?

[Don't worry, Damien. Google will speed up the search for the perfect recipe...right?]

[ can king hear his heart beating faster? because it is. they've always had an.. electric compatibility, to say the least and even the smallest hook of king's fingers around his makes his fingers twitch and curl around king's in response. damien's pretty far gone. ]

Tomorrow? If you'd like to come in the morning, we can.. bake tea time treats and have fresh scones for afternoon tea maybe?

[ also gives him time to clean his impeccably clean house, fill his cabinet to the brim with tea - just in case he wasn't prepared in some way. ]

[ damien's other hand reaches to brush his hair back, a little nervously as red flushes against his pale skin. oh he's so far gone. ]

.. You can stay as long as you please, King. I - well, apologize if I'm making things awkward. It's been quite a while - since I've been even remotely.. this, [ and he gives king's hand a little squeeze ] intimate.

[King isn't smooth 100% or even 40% of the time, as his smile soon turns to a sheepish grin. It's really nice, finding someone to be vulnerable with.]

In all fairness, it's been a while for me too. [That said, he's just going to give Damien's hand a gentle squeeze to show that he's being serious.]
