Earn my place

place by your side shipping meme;

They showed you kindness, perhaps in a way you'd never seen before, perhaps in a way you can never repay. But you're trying; in exchange, you're offering your loyalty, for how much or how little that's worth. For them, you'd do anything: you'd fight, you'd protect, you'd be their right hand or their biggest advocate, if they needed it and you can offer it. As long as you get to stay by their side, it doesn't matter.

So, you certainly don't have to worry about your bond surpassing what you have now or becoming romantic, do you? That will just get in your way of being there for them. Since you've only got their best interest at heart, it won't bother you if someone else were to pursue them...

...right?

As long as you get to stay by their side. As long as you get to fight for them. As long as they need you.

[The line between them, was one she would respect and not dare push through. She wouldn't go into his mind, not unless he allowed it, but she didn't foresee any reason why he would. She was able to train on other creatures, to manipulate thoughts or movement, but that was it. Wanda knew she could do, had done more in the past, but she wasn't willing to try it on another person. She wouldn't make them her toy or play thing.

That rule allowed trust to form, and perhaps a bond of sorts. Wanda learned to trust him, and she hoped he learned to place more trust in her.

She pulls her long hair back, twisting it a little to make sure none of it falls over her shoulder. before, it would've fascinated her to see all the items float around with such ease, now, it's another part of every day life with him.]

Turkey, we can try for seafood another night. Drinks? [She wouldn't be opposed to having something to go along with it.] And, a salad to go with it? Think we still have a vinaigrette.

[Preparing food today, such a common, domestic act. It was nice to have him in the kitchen, for both of them to partake in making food together and trading off on who cooked. An easy going partnership between the two of them....and something she would miss if they had to go their separate ways.]

[Mordred sets up the process of getting dinner together, which mostly involves pairing knives with vegetables and making sure they know what they're supposed to be doing. He starts peeling potatoes, then lets the potato peeler take over on its own; he takes an onion and a cutting board out of crying distance and starts dicing it, until the cutting knife gets the idea, and so on. It isn't telekinesis, like Wanda's powers, but rather a simple charm. It's the kind of thing that becomes quite simple when you practice for fifteen hundred years.

But magic or not, a personal touch really does add flavor to a meal, and Mordred never leaves things entirely to magic. Surrounded by a now lively kitchen, he brings out and starts cutting up the turkey she requested, and raises a thoughtful eyebrow at her across the counter.]

Excellent idea. I'll let you handle that. [A little smirk.] As long as you use your powers to do it.

[Wanda had moved over to the sink to wash her hands. She was prepared to use her hands to cut up the vegetables, and hand mix the salad herself. There was something about preparing food with one's hands that was satisfying. And, if one was upset, pounding meat with a meat hammer helped with taking the edge off.

She gave him a look as she dried her hands on a dish towel.]

Another lesson? [She didn't seem to be too keen on it, but she wasn't glaring at him. There was a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.] Cooking isn't the same unless I can use my hands. [He can't be serious, can he? Ah, but he did say he was starving so...she should oblige him and do as he's requested.

She taps into her power, creating ribbons of energy that grab the vegetables that are needed for the salad. The knife and cutting board float over and carefully, she's cutting up lettuce with precision.]

You've taught me a lot. Though, I imagine there's still plenty to learn. [Still more time to be at his side, if he allowed it.]
