The Sight — You're the only one who can see them, the only one in the world to them, now. Haunted Home — There's something wrong with your house. Can you reclaim it? Do you want to get rid of your companion? Peace to the Vengeful — All you wanted to do was do a kind deed and help them achieve peace, not become eternally grateful. Remember — Both of you are bound and determined to find out who you were as a living mortal. The knowledge might tear you apart. Different Time, Different Place — This ghost is of a person who's a bit...antiquated compared to you. Careful, they may want to court you. It certainly makes things awkward when they see how you dress. Jealousy — Lights burst, glass cracks, and the whole place goes cold when someone with a pulse smiles at you. Protection — You'll risk your afterlife for the one you love. Confession — If you can communicate vocally, confessions are easy. If you can't talk, that's a whole other kettle of fish. The Challenge of Intimacy — Ghost makes it look so easy. You want to reach out and touch them, but you can't always do that. Manifestation — Your emotions have temporarily given you a physical form. Keeping You Here — The living's affection keeps the dead in the mortal coil. Decay — The longer they stay with you, the more of a violent wraith, disconnected from their past, they become. Passing — You have to let them go, even if they don't want to. Just Like Heaven — You'll work together to find a way to bring you back to life. ANYTHING ELSE?

Vax's connection to the world was...tenuous, and distorted, and he didn't always understand what he was seeing. It was strange -- reality didn't seem to have any meaning at all anymore. He had a vague memory of a time when he understood the concept of "real," but he struggled with it now. The more he looked through the veil to see Keyleth and the world he'd left, the harder it became.

He doesn't sleep very well. He's never slept very well. It's just that every new scar ripped through his heart makes it harder.

Holding his son helps. They'll never properly have enough time. There will always be something to tear him away, to stop him from watching every minute of the boy's life.

So on nights like this, Horatio pulls Richard up quietly into his arms. He walks the quiet halls, listening to the boy's soft breath and feeling the certainty of the child's warm weight against his chest.

Richard is real. Richard is alive and safe. Richard can be kept safe where so many else had been taken.

He's not sure when, exactly, he started talking to Archie while he wandered. There are worries he doesn't want to lay on his son's tiny shoulders while he wanders--hurts he wants to let bleed out before the child is old enough to take up their burden.

Well, this was different. She hadn't decided yet whether it was a good different or a bad one, and it didn't seem to matter. Urahara could probably sort her out, but looking at Keigo's lightly sleeping form, she had to admit she wasn't the biggest fan of that idea.

It had started off innocently enough. After their first tryst they'd been meeting up more often, and while it was satisfying in a way nothing had been before, it was still decidedly strange, and not just because of the difference in matter.

Not that that seemed to exist, right now. Tentatively, she stretched her arm out the slightest bit to run her fingertips down his ribcage, smirking a little at the shiver it called forth. Well, that felt natural enough, anyway. It was actually nice, not needing to worry about the gigai's maintenance. Urahara Kisuke was a perfectionist so she rarely had anything to worry about that way, but it was still reassuring to know that she didn't even need to give it a thought.

Which meant she could focus on other things. Namely, the fact that he still wasn't awake while she'd been for a few minutes now...
