The Midnight Texting Meme
It's the middle of the night and you're trying to catch some z's, or brooding alone in the alleys as one does, when your phone rings and dings and suddenly a stranger or a friend is texting you. What could they possibly want at this time? Is it important? Stupid? Are they drunk or maybe just needy? Pick up your phone and find out!
Rules:
- Post with your character's name and canon on the subject line, indicate preferences as needed
- Tag others
- Have fun!

[ Try again, Ezio. ]

[ How can you say no to this face? Look at this pout. ]

I promise you that I am alright, my love. I have suffered far worse.

So stubborn, Ezio!
But all right. When you come home, I will heal your wounds. I trust you in the meantime.

I know I can be needlessly stubborn too, which is why I am not insisting you tell me where you are. In your own time, come home. I will be waiting for you here. Forgive me. I do not mean to be difficult or cause you headaches. I only worry so much because I love you.

Were our places reversed, I like to think I would trust your judgement.
[We are not going to mention how questionable his sometimes is.]
As do I. But try to have a little faith in me. Or else you may go gray before it is your time.

...Ezio, beloved, my hair is already white as an old crone's.
[ If this is a joke... she actually really does laugh a lot at it. ]
no subject
Is it? I hadn't noticed.
[And would you look at that, he managed to successfully distract her.]
no subject
You know, I believe that is the first time anyone has ever said that to me, even in jest.
I love you.

Ti amo, strabella.

I will see you at home then?
no subject
Si. I will not be long, my love.

All right. Say hello to Leonardo for me.
[ In the meantime, she's going to start prepping a warm bath for taking care of her probably extremely sore and achy Assassin. Likely he will be hungry too and he will need to rest after her healing, so she gets fresh sheets for the bed as well. All of this helps the time pass for her, so that she might worry less until she can see for herself how he is actually faring. ]

He knew what she liked, if nothing else.
It is late into the evening when he finally returns to her after weeks of being away, muscles sore and stiff, skin chilled and red, robes bloodied and dirty. There's a few bandages littering his body, wounds cleaned and cared for with onimitment before tightly wrapped despite his protest - results of Leonardo's fussing. But they felt far better now than they had previously, and so he was glad for the afternoon on the return journey.
Exshauted and starving as he comes into the warmth of the small house, calling out for her as he finds a place to start removing his armor and robes.]

The young woman goes to him with a little smile and embraces him gently, any tightness all in how she grips his robes with her fingers rather than in her arms around him. She's happy to see him again finally, but still, she is careful not to be rough with him right now, not wanting to make his physical pain worse. ]
I am glad you made it safely. I drew you a bath. It should still be hot.
no subject
You are too good to me, my love. [Moving away from her was just as painful, but there was still blood and dirt speckled across his robes.] I will not take long.
no subject
Not so fast. I told you— I want to see your injuries.
[ She takes his hands then, tugging him along with her to the bedroom where she's prepared the bath for Ezio. She plans to heal him with her magic, as she told him before, but she also just wants to spend a bit more time with him now that he's back. She's missed him too and fussing over him for a bit feels like it's what they both need now that they are reunited. ]
Take your clothes off and I will put them in the wash in a little while.
no subject
There is no need, Cecil. I am fine.
[Her magic was much better saved for someone who could truly benefit from it - or, heaven forbid, when the time finally came that death caught up with him and he was injured beyond what he could withstand and heal from.]
Please, my love, I just want to bathe and eat and sleep. You can fuss over me tomorrow, hm?
[But he still does as he is told, fingers already working on his remaining clothing, leather gloves falling upon the awaiting chair first, followed by the heavy, torn and dirty fabric of his robe. Standing in nothing more than the thin undershirt and pants, it's possible to see pure white bandages peaking out about his shoulder.]
