[ So it might've been a mistake to take the Regalia to that scenic locale Prompto was so dead-set on snapping while the other two members of their entourage were out frog-hunting. Saving them the half-hour or so of walking to the viewpoint was initially worth it, but the trip back's been littered with hindrance after hindrance ranging from the sudden outbreak of coeurls to the sudden onslaught of mist. It's a miracle they made it back to the Regalia at all with his sense of direction skewed entirely out of the realm of logic. Can't even tell which way's left or right when inundated by so much mist.

With the magic of GPS, they do manage to make it back to the drop-off point, but the rain sloshing down against the window is doing a fantastic job at keeping their view entirely obscured by fog and dripping condensation. All Noctis knows at the moment is that they're somewhere in the Cleigne region, and Gladio and Iggy are mostly likely waiting it out in some cave, or dead in a ditch somewhere. One or the other. Flip a coin on it. Fifty/fifty chance. Noctis tosses his (now battery-dead) cellphone onto the vehicle's dashboard. ]

Mine's out. But we'll find them. Just ... give it some time? Could try calling them again on yours.

[ Despite having the heat cranked up to full blast, the chill surrounding the car isn't fully negated. Neither is the distinct fear of something ominous just on the horizon as Noct flips from where he's slouched down on the driver's seat just adjacent to Prompto to angle a glance behind them. ]

Jason wasn't even sure why the hell he was rolling with Roy to Star City anyway, he hated being around the heroes, even more he didn't get why Roy was going.

Okay, he did. He goes every time he's called home. He just didn't like Oliver Queen on principal.

It was while they were gassing and getting road snacks, that Jay noticed something and let out a whistle to get his partner's attention. ]

Ronan had no right to complain. It was Gansey's car, but Ronan had dreamed it. If he'd aimed for less authenticity, they wouldn't be in this situation. But if Gansey had fallen in love with a better vehicle, Ronan wouldn't have had to dream of a busted engine.

Said engine made one last strangled sound before expiring. Ronan cast a withering look at Gansey. It'd have no effect, but sometimes the act was all that mattered.

They're in.. Iowa? Kansas? He doesn't even know anymore, it's one of those flat weird states in the middle of this ginormmous country, one of those that doesn't seem to have any big cities but sure has a fuckton of corn.

Fields and fields of corn, which is why he can't stop the pickup truck. The asshole in the back might take off running and then that's their night ruined. They can't pull over anywhere, either--aside from the aforementioned asshole running buck wild in a cornfield problem, this demon has disciples. And they keep finding their patron.

So that's how Choenil finds himself white-knuckling the steering wheel of a pickup truck, which he's not sure how exactly Marcus came to be in possession of. There's a different kind of possession going on in the truck's bed, with Marcus back there hanging on while also trying to do an exorcism.

...Which is just a bit of a problem for the demon behind the wheel. He's in his own body so things are different for him, and he's on the sidelines so the orders aren't being yelled at him over the din of the truck's engine and the air rushing past. But the proximity is uncomfortable.

Please, please, let Marcus win this one before shit gets too out of hand.

He spares a glance at the rearview mirror and then he turns his head to call out over his shoulder, through the little sliding glass window behind him, currently open. ]

[ really, genuinely interested in some dusty and bedraggled scene-setting of a long road trip for X reasons, where these two happen to run across each other because of a scenario along the lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, or 7. Will making a reluctant stop to check on another car, or running across someone when he's exhaustedly stopping at a gas station, all sound great right now.

if you're not familiar with Will's canon, his permissions are here but this is a great reminder to myself that i should make an intro post of sorts for him. until then, enjoy the gif in that permissions post as a quick summary.
