THE VACATION MEME

Everybody needs a little time off and this is yours! Grab a friend and go on a trip together! Grab SEVERAL friends if you want!

How To Play

1) Post your character with their name/canon and any preferences in the subject line.

2) Get a die or hop over to the RNG and roll for a location! Reason for the vacation and method of transit are up to you!

3) Tag others with what you've rolled!

4) Go someplace fun and have adventures together!

The Options

1) Sunshine!
You're off to someplace warm! Maybe you've gone on safari, to the beach, to the desert, to a beautiful winery in a southern locale. As long as you can soak up some sun you're golden! Enjoy and take a friend to do something fun with!

2) Snow!
You need to get away from the heat for a while. Go skiing or snowboarding, go ice fishing, skating, climbing! Take in the natural beauty of a far north place like Greenland or Alaska! Make some snowmen and have fun in the chilly weather!

3) Sights!
You want to go see something AMAZING, or maybe not so amazing. Pyramids, ruins, cathedrals, caves, big exciting cities, remote natural wonders. Go see a gallery, a museum or the largest ball of twine on the continent! The world is your oyster!

4) Sounds!
IT'S CONCERT TIME! Are you going to a rock show, to the symphony, to a small slam poetry gathering or to a big fundraiser event? Is it outdoor or indoor, big or small, and most importantly what's the music like?! Dance or just listen and enjoy!

5) Staying In!
The weather sucks, or maybe leaving home is just too much work, but you're going to stay put and relax. Invite your friends over to have fun! Watch a movie, or play games (rock band, cards, monopoly), cook together, eat together, or just chat.

6) Wildcard!
Mix and match the above or come up something completely different! Go nuts!

Guess who, Rogers? You know that guy that's been waking you up screaming for the last two weeks? That guy. That guy holding a dufflebag. "You got ten minutes. Pack five changes of underwear and a swimsuit and meet me on the landing deck." Tony disappears after tossing the bag at the sketching man.

Steve lifts his head just in time for the duffle to land on it, pulling it off and sliding off his chair. He leans into the hallway just in time to see Tony's foot disappear onto the elevator and sighs.

The only way to get answers out of Stark, it seems, is to play along until he feels like giving them...

So he's up on the landing deck with bag packed in ten minutes, having added his sketchbook, sunscreen, a spare shirt and pants, his favourite jacket and of course the shield to his cargo.

"Do I get to know where we're going? Is there going to be apple cake?" he asks as he comes to stand at Tony's side. He really needs to get on task with applying for jobs. Something feels wrong to him about having as much free time as a billionaire...

[ Someday, he'll get over how weird it is he's going on vacation with himself. Today.... may... have to be that day. ]

Packed?

[Loki was bored and a bored Norse God was definitely something to be feared. He'd been here before. Viking and Norse territory was nothing unfamiliar to him, so he was basically rolling his eyes throughout the entire tour. Plus, all the stories about him and Thor were made up. Rumors that had perpetuated Midgard through out their many adventures]

I did not give birth to an eight legged horse.

[He hisses in Steve's ear, just to clarify]

Answer? Well, he's grinning. The trouble is that behind a gold face place. There's a reason he had Steve meet him up here, after all. Without a single word, Iron Man wraps an arm around Steve's waist and they shoot up into the atmophere at a speed and height normal humans would be uncomfortable with. Manhattan shrinks in no time, far, far away and Tony spirals down towards the water.

They're not heading out too far, not really, and at this particular height, the air is still warm and the breeze isn't completely unpleasant. He skips himself like a stone off of the ocean as they cruise to a stop half an hour later or so.

There are people there waiting for them, all beautiful women with much too large breasts that raise up a "Hello, Mr. Stark!" when Tony sets Steve down.

And not a hair out of place on that man's perfect head too!

Rupert Giles will believe in a great many things. Time travel has never been one he's had opportunity to consider before. He'd thought the Doctor had been just drunk or outright mad when he'd started talking about the places they could go, and...

...well, here they were. The 1851 Great Exhibition. Giles is, for once, speechless as he stares up at the great glass structure, the crowds flowing around them both.]

[Steve believes him, really, but he's trying like hell not to laugh anyway. Maybe nobody else had wanted to take Loki on a museum tour but leave it to Cap to see the hidden benefits, like hearing the real stories straight from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

Horses... pfffft....]

I'm pretty sure if you needed an eight legged horse you could find a less inconvenient way of getting one, yes.

[If Steve so much as laughs --- Loki is going to blow this entire continent to tiny microscopic pieces]

That was one of Thor's stupid rumors. Mother's mare became pregnant and since I didn't have an interest in women, Thor blamed it on me.

Steve's getting to expect being grabbed and carted off places when Tony is in the suit but he's pretty sure he's NEVER going to get used to how damn FAST the thing can go. He pulls his jacket collar up, braces his arm on Tony's shoulders and ducks his head against the wind until they get to a cruising height. Still, the glances he can take at the scenery don't tell him much about where they're headed and he knows he won't be hear over the wind noise.

When they touch down he takes a look along the sun-bathed coastline and is privately glad he brought his sketchbook.

"Can you tell me to bring a hat next time or something?" he sighs, offering an awkward hello to the ladies when they collectively giggle and wave to him.

[Steve winces sympathetically.]

I wish I could say I can relate but I'm an only child. My best friend blamed me for more than a few things when we were kids though. Mostly candy or pie related offences.

"Ladies, this is Captain Rogers," Tony says with a grin after the face plate is up and he's headed across the beach towards the villa that rises two stories into white cliffs that overlook the ocean.

"Hello Captain Rogers," they chorus and make way for a butler to take Steve's things. Tony's got his things here already. He has things everywhere. Even on the hellicarrier.

When Steve finally catches up, Tony's just being taken out of his suit. "Know you don't get drunk but let's get some pina coladas and head out to the beach."

[He's one out of the very theoretical that would cater to the whims of a frost giant weakling]

Oh please. Try adding a few centuries worth of guilt. Please. Thor was the Fertility God.
