[Steve tries his hardest not to be a jealous man. He hates jealousy and he knows what it can do to someone if they don't keep it in check, so when he sees Toni at the Gala with other men, it's fine. Really, it is. He understands that she has to maintain certain relationships with the heads of other companies, but still. The way they look at her rubs him the wrong way.

And when she dances with them and their hands drift a little too low on her back, well-- that's a little more than slightly annoying. So annoying that he may have broken a few glasses while watching her dance.

After the third or fourth dance, Steve can't take it anymore. He walks over to her, offers a hand.]

In all honesty, John barely remembered what their fight had been about. Of course, the first few hours while he'd simmered in an anger he didn't feel too often, he could replay every detail and every word. It was when the expressions started to blur together, and all he could think about was how much his words must have hurt Dave. Even if the other would never show it, John knew Dave well enough to read the quirk of his lips, the scrunch of his eyebrows.

He'd spent the next few hours afterward consumed with a guilt that made the topic of their fight irrelevant. What mattered now was apologizing, making it up to his best friend turned-- something else.

(He wondered if maybe he should refer to Dave as his ttly hawt girlfriend or something. That fit in with his whole stupid irony gimmick, right? Just thinking about his possible reactions was enough to make him smile. Though, if he didn't make up with him soon, no such ironic petnames were going to have the chance to happen in the first place.)

So instead of looking everywhere for him and wasting a whole bunch of time because who knew where Dave went off to to sulk -- John sent a text.
