[How did they get into a demon fight on top of a skyscraper again? That seems like a much better place to be fighting ungodly horrors if you have, say, wings or something, than if you're just the scrawny allegedly human bff of someone else who has wings.

Ryo doesn't really care about the poorly chosen location until his shotgun clicks empty. Then he suddenly is extremely aware of there being pretty much nothing to stop him being used as yet another easily murdered human to upset Akira with, and promptly starts scoping out possible escape strategies.

If Akira wants out then he can just fly away. He'll be fine. Probably.]

[To hell with murder and to hell with bailing, Akira's been taking down demons all night but he's not gonna' let his best bro get murdered.

Which is why he's now jumped between the demons and Ryo, knocking back the adversaries as he lands.]

You got another one of those handy or am I going to cover you the rest of the night?

[Ryo is about equal parts annoyed and relieved by Akira bursting in to his rescue. Nice though it is not to have been slaughtered by demons, he kind of misses being the badass one...]

Do you think you could cover me for the rest of the night? If you spend all your fights with one eye on me, then sooner or later you're going to leave yourself open to them.

[Mr. Gratitude over here. Still, he's pulled a couple of shells from one of his pockets and he's fumbling to get them loaded as he talks.]

I'm good here. Worry about yourself!

[Especially since that big purple gloopy demon appears to be trying to spit it's flesh eating venom at you. You might want to watch out for that...]

How long do you think a Shotgun is going to last!?

[Akira notes the purple demon and grabs Ryo dashing out of the way of the spray. Then uses his ...eyebrow...hair...antannae thing to shoot goopy demon to bits with lasers.]

[Ryo takes a moment to appreciate the sight of goopy demon exploding into a pile of purple and red mush, before he clicks the shells down into place, and the shotgun closed again.]

Barely is enough. If you're concerned about how long I can last up here, then the answer's just for us to kill them faster.

[He levels his shotgun at one of the remaining demons, not even really conscious of how widely he's grinning right now.]

After all, it's not like I can run away from here. It's win or die, same as always.

Has anyone ever mentioned how creepy you look when you grin like that.

[Akira grabs a rushing demon and flings them against the floor, shattering it into a crater and also smashing the demon into paste from the force.]

[Ryo fires off a shot at a fat, centipede-like thing that's scuttling across the roof towards them.]

What? I wasn't grinning.

[He totally was. The centipede gives a shriek, and part of it's carapace falls away like cracked armor. It's still coming though, little legs punching holes in the concrete under their feet.]

Besides, I'm not the one with yellow eyes, purple skin and antennae. [He takes another shot, this one bursting through the hole he made before, effectively cutting it in half. The back half rolls to one side, dead. The front half speeds on, undeterred.]

And that is not the same thing!

[Akira swings and uppercuts the bottom half that comes rushing towards Ryo, putting his fist through it, then yanks it off and throws it into an ugly bird looking demon coming at him.]

You know what they say, Akira, Devilmen in glass houses shouldn't throw stones.

[And he's just going to hunt through his pocket for some more shotgun shells while they're talking.]

I'm just happy to be alive, that's all.

[...Happy to be alive, and fresh out of ammunition. Damn it.]
