The game is simple, really. Two truths, one lie. Can anyone guess which one is which?
» POST with your muse and their two truths and one lie.
» RESPOND to others guessing which is which.
» HAVE FUN calling people out!

2. I am a vegetarian.
3. I am a pacifist.

[He chuckles.] Truth be told, I'm a huge fan of meat. I take it you're a bit of a carnivore too, hm?
no subject
I just find dietary restrictions terribly sad.
Besides, the idea of a strong pacifist is much more engaging, isn't it?
no subject
[Mito smiles.] Well, I'm glad to hear that you think so. My opinion these days is just that there are many ways to resolve problems without having to resort to violence. It just takes a bit of creative thinking~
no subject
Though creative thinking s a nice part of it. Are you an actor or something like that?
[Jean thinks he has the feel and looks of an entertainer, but not the usual self-centeredness. Color him intrigued?]
no subject
[Brows raising in interest.] Ahh... I don't think I've ever heard "actor" before. [Though occasionally some people will guess something like "model" or- when he was a bit younger- "basketball player", which Mito knows are assumptions based largely on his height.]
But no, I can't say that the truth is anything so glamorous. Actually... [After a moment of searching through his cardigan's large pockets, he withdraws a small card which is offered to the blond before him.] I manage a small rabbit specialist shop. I suppose you could say that it's a family business of sorts?
[On the business card is all of the usual information you'd expect from one; his name, "Mito Itsuki", and the name of his shop in golden letters beneath a tiny bunny symbol- "Trois Lapins", among other contact details. After handing it of, he cants his head to the side with a curious smile.] Is it my turn to guess now~?
I'm gonna say that you're... hm. [His eyes scan the stranger briefly, one finger idly tapping his own chin.] ...A writer, maybe?
no subject
[He takes the cute card, puzzled eyebrows frowning slightly. And not only because he ate rabbit meat not a long time ago - a fact that he will most certainly refrain from mentioning. For the first time, he tries to imagine this young gentleman surrounded by fluffy furballs... It fits, but he can't help but think there's something more to it.
Then he breaks eye contact, shy for becoming the focus of Mito's attention.]
Only if you count emails to my sister and audit reports...I'm merely an inspector.
no subject
[Mito, on the other hand, is very satisfied with the answer he receives. He lowers his hand after the brief touch and smiles.] I see, I see!
You certainly do give off that kind of feeling.
no subject
No, no. Not disappointed. Surprised.
[He returns his gaze to Mito and carefully watches him with those mild eyes of his, looking for fur or maybe scratches. He takes a short breath and considers. How would rabbits smell like? ]
Hm, it's probably a little dull...
[The kind of feeling he gives off, that is. He offers a tiny, apologetic smile.]
no subject
[Though if one looks hard enough, it's certainly not impossible to find such evidence of Mito's profession. He might keep his clothes clean and tidy, but when you care for nearly a hundred little furballs, it's hard to avoid having at least a couple of stray hairs attach themselves stubbornly to your person.]
Dull? [A chuckle, as he warmly appreciates the other man's subtle shift in demeanor.] That's not it... The initial impression I got from you was simply that you were someone who seemed thoughtful. That's why I guessed that you might be a writer. Now that I've spoken with you a bit, it makes sense that a more practical job would suit you... but either way, I think both careers appeal to an introspective mind.
Rather than dull, I'd call you... "uniquely cool"?
no subject
Maybe he lives a little bit in his own world, though he has been called less flattering things than introspective. He wonders whether Mito wants something from him or is just naturally kind. He also wonders what sort of person purchases rabbits, and what sort of person sells them.]
...I'm Jean Otus. Is your business too far away?
no subject
Perhaps it's a bit late for me to say this- but it's very nice to meet you. My name is Mito Itsuki.
And no- the shop isn't very far at all! Roughly ten minutes by car- or a few stops by train... [Leaning in a bit, he gives the other man a hopeful expression; warm brown eyes sparkling with a keen sort of eagerness.] Are you thinking of visiting us, Mr. Inspector? It'd be nice to have you!
Pretty please~? ♥
no subject
Nice to meet you...Just Jean is all right. I don't drive, though.
[His eyes, however, are looking for a bus stop. Mito Isuki - whoever he is - is kind of intriguing. Besides, maybe he can recommend the shop to his coworkers: three lively ladies and a single father with three kids. That just spells bunny love, doesn't it.]
no subject
If you don't mind the van, that is... [Pointing over Jean's shoulder, he gestures towards a large van with golden bunny insignia on the side.]
Sorry, it's not exactly the most luxurious of vehicles- but I promise it's comfy! Is that okay? [He asks, but he's already moving to guide Jean by the hand.] Come, come~
Granny will be glad to meet you too!
no subject
Granny? Should I be worried?
[Is already being presented to the inlaws? My, didn't that escalate fast. But he's already climbing onto the van and carefully fastening his seatbelt. The vehicle is indeed very comfy. ]
no subject
And so, after adding one(1) adorably-docile blond to his inventory, Mito cheerfully climbs into the driver's seat himself, chuckling as he fastens his own seatbelt.]
Oh no, not at all... I'm sure you two will get along well~ If anything, her curiosity might make her a bit chatty- but she's no more worrisome than I am, I can assure you. [Granny is quite similar to Mito himself, after all, so there's no doubt in his mind that she will be just as intrigued by Jean's quiet, "uniquely cool" characteristics as her grandson is.] I think she'd particularly approve of me keeping company like you around, actually...
[With that, Mito pulls out of his parking spot and begins riding off towards Trois Lapins; cracking the van's window just enough to let a slight breeze waft through.]
no subject
It must be nice, to have a grandmother.]
I think I can cope with chatty. Do you usually keep worse company than me?
[If that is the case, the poor lady must worry a lot.]
1/2
[After a small flinch, Mito merely smiles, choosing his words very carefully.] ...No...
no subject
What kind of company do you keep, Jean-kun?
no subject
Jean watches him carefully, but doesn't press further. He is, however, increasingly intrigued about what Mito does with his spare time.]
Oh, only the worst kind. [He answers breezily. Spies, royals and politicians, oh my.]Though I'm afraid I have only one friend to speak of. We are a terrible influence on each other.
no subject
I imagine your job must keep you very busy, but... I'm a bit surprised. Even if you're a bit shy, you're very relaxing and easy to get along with. I would have guessed that you'd have many friends...
no subject
Are you always this kind?
[It's a genuine question. Mito seems really sweet.]
But it's all right. Honestly. I'm very thankful for the one friend I have.
no subject
Because you interest me. [A smile as he glances over at the other man from the corner of his eye.] So, I suppose my answer to your question would be "sometimes". -For the right kind of person.
[Mito looks forward again, eyes back on the road.] Mmh. I'm glad to hear that you're happy. That's what matters most...
But it'd be nice if you and I could become friends too. What do you think~?
no subject
Whatever Mito says, that is very hard to come by.]
I suppose we could try...
