[One of the reasons Genji himself was saved was because he wielded the power of the dragons, and now, he wonders if they might save Hanzo as well. In a different way, but it is good reason to accept him all the same. Especially when that power could just as easily fall into the wrong hands.]

Right now, our base of operations is Gibraltar. A little far away from home for me, but it is a beautiful place.

[Not that he thinks Hanzo is one to enjoy scenery, but Genji likes it there. It probably helps that the base is relatively isolated from the outside world, a place where he is not made to feel strange or unwanted.]

[ It's difficult to let the idea of being accepted sink into his mind, especially by those that had taken Genji in and given him a new life. They seem so far out of his reach that Hanzo can't even imagine it, let alone accept it as a possible path, a future that he could choose to take. He finally opens his eyes, looking over at his brother, intent and sure. ]

That is very far from home.

[ Could he pack everything up? Could he abandon Japan and his search for honour and go to this place seeking the possible chance at redemption? ]

I do not know.

[Genji watches Hanzo, so uncertain and adrift now compared to the decisive, self-assured young man he had once been. If he wanted to push Hanzo to do anything in those days, it was to take some time away from his duties to have fun, and most of the time Hanzo simply wouldn't listen anyway and would scold him for shirking his responsibilities. Now... Hanzo seems lost on what his duties are altogether.]

It is your choice, brother. [He rises to his feet, and stretches, a soft mechanical whirr sounding at the motion.] But, even if our paths must part here once more, you will know where to find me.

[ There is no one to guide Hanzo now, he thinks, and the frustration is palpable - there is nothing he can do but wait for the path to become clear to him. Genji had given him an option, but was it one he was willing to take? Was he truly able to allow himself to chase after his brother once more, even if it was in a completely different way? How had he been given the right to be in his brother's company after all that he had done?

He felt unworthy, and it was not a feeling he was familiar nor comfortable with. ]

Yes. [ Hanzo turns to watch as Genji rises, prepared to leave. ] Gibraltar.

And if you are not ready to make such a decision, there is somewhere else that will grant you sanctuary.

[Genji takes a few steps forward on the grassy verge, looking down at the city stretched out below them. Then he looks back at Hanzo.]

Have you heard of the Shambali? [With the news of its leader's assassination such a shock to the world, a better question might be who hasn't heard of the Shambali. But then, Hanzo leads a different life to most. Such concerns as the omnics' struggle might be beyond him.] My home is with them now.

You would send me to monks.

[ It should surprise him that Genji had travelled away with monks and learned how to meditate in a way far different from how they had been taught as children. It's frustrating to imagine Genji having this long life while Hanzo mourned and suffered, but it is no less than he deserved. This is what had been coming to him from the moment that he had allowed himself to kill his brother, and penance is something he is still working towards.

Frowning, he considers. ]

Overwatch or Shambali. I see.

[Genji laughs, a tinny, synthesized sound, and he grins at Hanzo under his faceplate.] I am not sending you anywhere. It is an offer.

[His life is not Hanzo's life, and he doesn't expect Hanzo to make all the same decisions he has. He only wants to help him, be there for him in a way he perhaps needs more than anything else, right now, and so the cyborg will simply offer what little he can give. Protect him in whatever little ways he can.

Genji moves back over to his brother and crouches in front of him, placing a hand on his shoulder.]

If you need a place of safety and peace, they will accept you. And because it is my home, I will never be too far away.

[eruit]

[ The laugh makes something inside him soften, and Hanzo pauses for a long moment because he's able to muster words again. ]

An offer to meditate with monks.

[ It's not said scathingly, this time, at least, and Hanzo shakes his head before he turns his attention to Genji and Genji alone. They will part ways soon, he thinks, even as Genji settles in front of him, touches him again, as if no time has passed, and he wonders if he will be able to survive knowing his brother is out there in the world and he is so far from him.

He finds he wants to be near Genji, no matter how much he loathes himself, no matter how much he is undeserving. ]

I will consider it... Brother.

[Even the consideration is more than he would have expected from Hanzo not so long ago, something that makes his heart swell. Genji nods brightly.]

I believe you will make the choices that are best for you, brother. Even if the answers are not clear to you straight away, you will find them.

[He gets to his feet once more, now intending to leave in earnest.] I will be waiting for you when that day comes.

[ Hanzo is trying. It may not appear to be much to others, but to him it is clearly an effort - to accept that Genji was alive, to accept the man he had become, to accept that this was all reality, now... It was not something he could process easily. ]

You have faith in me.

[ Where he does not have faith in himself; that is the end to that sentence. Frowning, Hanzo watches, unsure what to do or what to say. In the end, all he can do is nod. ]

Do not wait forever, Genji.

Nothing lasts forever, Hanzo. That is why I have faith.

[Would Hanzo really let this opportunity of the redemption he so desperately wants pass him by, leaving him in this sorry state? Genji doesn't think so; the Hanzo he knows in his heart is not like that. He is strong, and always striving to better himself. Genji only hopes Hanzo can rise to that challenge once again.

With those parting words, Genji vanishes in a blur of green too fast for the eye to track, disappearing into the trees just as silently as he appeared. As with their last meeting, the only evidence he had been there at all is a single sparrow feather as a parting gift, left behind where he had been seated next to Hanzo.]
