 The Love Letter Meme

Apparently, your character (or someone else) has given another character a note. Or vice versa. It's not just any note, either: it's a *~*LOVE LETTER*~ * Now it's time to face the music. Was this all a joke? Or was this meant to be in total secret but somehow you were figured out?

How this works:
→ Leave a comment with the usual information in the subject line: character name, fandom. Any preferences, including what you don't want, should be included as well. 
→ Congratulations, either your character (or some prankster on your behalf) has given someone else a love letter or someone is giving yours one right now!
→ Tag around.
→ BONUS ROUND. Include the letter itself. Be creative!
→ Feel free to roll RNG (1-8) if you cannot come up with scenarios of your own. 
→ Have fun, and be excellent to each other!

[This was probably a joke. Jules would almost go so far as to say that it had to be a joke, because people like him didn't seem like the type who write love letters. But somehow, the messenger had placed it into Julia's ever willing hands and pointed at the gentleman, despite Jules never having seen him before. Moving across the rooftop party in the city, Julia smiled as she practically prowled towards him, wearing black as one typically tended to do during this sort of thing.

With the fancy white envelope in one hand, and a champagne flute in the other, she approached him directly, holding out the note to him. When she speaks, her voice is soft and amused, and she steps closer to him so that the din of the party is at least partially drowned out.]

I think this might have been passed to me by mistake. If it came from you, even. The kid who delivered it was high as a fucking kite, but he pointed me in your direction, so here I am.

[Kaulder is just parting ways with a smirking redhead when this new stranger approaches him; his own smile dims into polite confusion and he looks first at her face and then down at the note in her hand. Well, sure, she's cute - and a little "I'm not daddy's little princess" with the peppering of profanity - but...

What is this, middle school? He would never pass notes across a party. Maybe more than a century ago, when sending a calling card was the Done Thing, but it was such an unnecessary step in the flirting process. So of course he has to think up the obvious reasons why she might have been sent his way.

1. This is a trick. She's working with witches and if he takes that note, he's going to have an unpleasant evening.
2. This is a warning. Someone sent her his way because she's a witch.
3. She's in trouble, and that note is a ruse she's utilizing to get his help.
4. It's an honest mistake.

Three out of four of these options don't result in an enchantment being cast on him by looking at the note, and his intelligence modifier is not that high, so he reaches out and plucks the note from her fingers, opens it, and reveals a hastily scrawled message.]

I didn't write this. Not sure who did, but I'm glad I saved you from them. I'm not sure what they're proposing is legal, much less physically possible. Kinda taints the whole love note aspect of it.

[For a moment, there's just a hint of a frown in her expression; Julia Bellamy is not the sort of woman who gets much in the way of polite smiles. No, she tends to get smiles that are invitations and or some sort of something else. It's something that might have thrown Jules off her game if there hadn't been for him taking the note from her. Now it was her turn to look at him in polite disinterest, but then the expression grew into a smirk and her eyes sparkled as she stepped closer to him and the note that he held in his hand.

Her voice was soft and amused her fingers reaching out for the piece of paper in his hand.]

Well... [The word is drawn out with her grin and she seems to consider what it was that he said.] I expect that maybe something could come close to it, if a person was willing and flexible enough, and I've never really worried about the legalities of something, have you?

[Well, that last bit may have been a little bit of a lie considering that she had been in law school, but that sure as hell wasn't the sort of legalities that they were talking about here and now.]

[He glances down at her, amusement coloring his expression as he relinquishes the note. Someone in the crowd is probably watching them in horror as they read what was probably a half-drunk come-on intended for some other unsuspecting woman at the party.]

Can't say that I have.

[Leaning down a little to close the space between them, giving the conversation just a little more intimacy, he continues:] Seeing as that note's not from me, for you, I'm going out on a limb here and guessing that your name isn't 'Baby'.

[Julia just grins back up at him, her brow arching a little bit, but she takes his cue to step closer as well, so much so that she's nearly touching him. Not quite though. Somewhere in the party, the person she came with was probably looking on in horror, but there were very few people whom Julia was monogamous with, and the man who had gotten her in here most definitely wasn't one of them. Besides, this man was interesting, and her interest in him had burned out when he had started talking about his business dealings and how much money he had.

Boring.

But this man certainly seemed more interesting, and Julia laughed softly at the comment, and it was a rich sound that went along with her brushing some of her hair back over her shoulder. Her eyes met his and sparkled before she spoke softly, her head inclining.]

Not if you're fond of having that lovely jawline, I think. I'm a lot of things, sweetie, but 'Baby' definitely isn't one of them. I'm a Julia.

[Not MUCH of a jawline, really. He used to wear a lengthy beard when it was fashionable to hide an almost-weak chin, but these days people seem more accepting of well-tended muscle mass in place of a wiry build and a chiseled jaw. Things go in and out of fashion like the tide.]

You here with that guy over there? [A nod in the direction of said person, who does in fact look rather put out.] Looks like you kicked his puppy, and we're just making conversation.

I was. [And those two words really say it all: that no matter what happens with herself or Kaulder, she is certainly not going to be leaving the party with the clingy person whom she walked in with. Especially when she looked over her shoulder and saw said man with said kicked puppy expression. Making a little bit of a grin and a wave, her eyes sparkled as she turned back to the man that she had been making the acquaintance of.]

Listen, I don't suppose you mind if I borrow you for two seconds, do you, Kaulder?

[Jules had been about to ask what sort of name it was, but for right now there were more important things to do, like operation get rid of puppy boy.]
