Or are you? There's a suspect in your disappearance, someone who absolutely had to take you away by force. The picture's clear to all outside parties. Except it isn't that clear cut. You've left, yes, and you've been taken, of course, but you weren't strong-armed into it. You went with this person, this suspect, of your own free will. Because you love them, because you can't be together otherwise, because they offer a better opportunity regardless of your feelings towards them, because you want to escape someone else you know for certain you can't love, or just because you can. Marie was nervous. This was it - a way for Karla to do what she wished without people bothering her. And perhaps allow Marie to spend time with her, but Karla's wish was first. All she needed to do was to wait and make her move. And hopefully she can do so without problems...

Karla was a bit nervous too. It was after sundown, and Karla was getting ready to turn in for the night. Of course, she was expecting "company," as well. So she may have "accidentally" left a window open as she got into bed and pulled the covers over herself.

She would wait a few moments before making her move. Marie would dart for the window "accidentally" left open, making sure no one saw her before climbing in. Once there, she spotted Karla in bed and slowly approached her.

"Are you ready?" She whispered.

Karla sat up with a smile. "As I'll ever be."

She looked around, at her windows and her door, hoping no one else would come in...

Marie did the same, making sure that no one was coming in. So far, so good.

"Get what you need." She said. "If you want, I can be dashing and carry you away." She smiled a bit at that. If anything, it was to lessen the tension.

"Hmm..." She pondered for a moment, thinking of what she might need. One thing did come to mind...

She got up to grab her sword and strap it around her waist.

"That should do it, I think..."

Marie nodded before scooping Karla up in her arms. Trying to be dashing still. "Alright, let's get going..."

With that, she headed back to the window, a few guards walking by. "Crap..."

Karla watched carefully. "Just give it a moment..."

Another moment passed as she suggested, "Or you could go out the window if you'd like..."

Marie thought about it for a moment before nodding. "Alright, the other way."

With that, she lead Karla back to the window and hopped out, this time knowing there were no guards in. She sat her on her feet once landed. "C'mon, let's get going." Taking her hand, she dashed out towards the nearest alleyway.

"Okay..."

Karla followed, glancing around for any guards, or just anyone who might yell for them.

So far, no one would catch them, but there would be a few curious call outs as they slip behind the alleyway.

"Close one..."

Karla surveyed her surroundings once more. They shouldn't be bothered anymore at this point.

"I think the coast should be clear from here..."

Marie looked around herself before nodding and pointing towards a wall.

"There's a hole in the wall. Slip past there, head for the woods and there's a house." She said. "We'll be home free at that."

"Okay..."

Karla did as told, heading for the wall and slipping through the hole. And then she made her way into the woods.

And Marie would follow suit, making sure Karla made it safely...

Karla made her way through the woods, eventually spotting a house. It must be the one that Marie was referring to.

"Is that your house?"

"That's it, yes. Away from all prying eyes and I'm certain no one else knows about it t." Marie said, nodding.

"It should be unlocked..."

"Okay..."

Karla approached the door, slowly turning the knob to open it. Then she stepped inside to study the interior.

The interior was actually quite nice and furnished well. Living room, bedroom and kitchen stocked and maintained. There seemed to be another door heading downstairs, too. A basement?

"Does it work?" She asked. "At least for now?"

"It'll work for now."

She looked at the different rooms. So much to explore.

"So what do we do now?"

[onewithwater]

"It'll probably be morning before they realize you're gone. We got plenty of time to do what we wish." Marie replied.

"You can do whatever you want..." she reached out to take her hands.

"Hmm..."

Karla looked around. The living room, kitchen, and bedroom were self-explanatory enough. But the basement? That was always a mystery.

"What's in there?" she asked, pointing towards the basement.

"My dungeon." Marie said, chuckling and shaking her head. "No, it's an escape route. And a pool."

She began to lead Karla to the basement, revealing a lit up area with a large water passage down a cave. "It leads out to a river further out. It's so out of the way, no one would realize it. There's another escape path there, too, but it's underwater..."
