2 TRUTHS 1 LIE
| 2 TRUTHS 1 LIE |
![]() |
| 1. Post with your character. 2. In your comment, have your character state three things about themselves. 2 of those things should be the truth. 1 of them should be a lie. 3. Respond to other characters, and try to guess which one of their statements are a lie. Can you guess correctly? 4. Have fun! Take turns! And don't forget, sometimes the truth can be a whole lot stranger than fiction. |

No, I don't think they like it when you spend your time doing anything but schoolwork.
[ A very deliberate sigh, coupled with her shaking her head. ]
Poor Bucky.
[ Everyone thinks Steve is the good one!!! ]

I know, right? Talk to him; he'll set the record straight. He was a good student. Also a troublemaker, but I got him into more than half of it.
So, is it your turn now?

I'll talk to him. I think you might even need to let him borrow your shield sometimes. Just to make up for your wild youth.
[ "Wild youth" of course implies that Steve's any less reckless now, which... ]
All right, I'll go. But don't think we won't be revisiting the church choir comment later. [ Because: adorbs. ]
1. I don't know how to ride a bicycle.
2. I'm the older twin.
3. I wouldn't go back to being normal even if I could.

Ohh...Bucky's borrowed my shield more than once. [He smiles, nostalgic and wistful.] He's as good with it as I am, don't worry.
[But, damn, hers are hard to sort out. Not knowing how to ride a bicycle strikes him as fairly plausible. Sounds like her childhood was unsafe and maybe too busy for much play. The other two, though...]
Is the third one the lie?

Second one. I'm twelve minutes younger.
[ So it's not as bad as it sounds, really. The pep talks make their mark. ]

For all that, though, he fits the title he's taken well enough: baseball and apple pie, reckless optimism and endless stubbornness. Born on the 4th of July.]
Twelve minutes, huh? [He smiles gently, visibly relieved.] I'd heard twins always know to the minute which one's older.
I'm glad. That you wouldn't go back to normal. I think it's healthy to feel a little ambivalent about all this. Same as you would about any big change, or any big responsibility. But we need you. [How's that for a pep talk? Superfluous, maybe, but sometimes he says these things to remind himself.]

Steve's probably one of the few people who gets what it's like to be different. Even if he is or was the country's big hero. They're alike, and she appreciates it. ]
Twelve minutes. He never let me forget it.
[ These days, she can even smile about it. But it doesn't hurt that Steve's doing that thing again. Making her feel like she's a valuable part of something bigger than herself. If it wasn't for him and Natasha's training, she can't imagine where she'd be. ]
I could hardly leave you alone with all this world-saving.
[ She forgets, sometimes, how many members of the Avengers are just people. She thinks of herself that way too, until it became impossible to forget how different she really is. Having Steve around kind of helps her feel not like a total freak. Mostly. ]

You know, I feel like the world is probably going to keep on needing to be saved long after we're, mm, unable to do any saving. Someone will carry on, I'm sure. But thank you. It's nice to be in good company.
