reasons: to obtain property, to unite families, to carry on a bloodline,

① Station → You come from a royal, noble, or otherwise distinguished family who has chosen a suitable spouse for you.
② Feud → You are being married to put an end to the bitter enmity between your two families.
③ Economics → Your economic state and/or your station will improve through the union, though one of you may be marrying down.
④ Empire → You and your spouse are merging your businesses and/or property to create something more influential or profitable.
⑤ Tribute → You have been offered as a gift or appeasement, alternately you're the spoils of war.
⑥ Bloodline → Carrying on your distinguished family name has fallen to you and the equally well-bred spouse of your family's selection.

Of course Barry had heard of Supergirl. Who hadn't? She was the savior of National City time and time again. So naturally she made it on his Bulletin Board of Weird as he was getting out of school and taking up his job in Central City as a CSI. (What Iris? It's purely professional interest, that's all.)

A few years later the particle accelerator explodes and everything changes. Now he's The Flash, hero of Central City and he hasn't exactly had as much time to monitor his old hobbies like he used to.

Then Joe delivers the news and Barry is pretty sure he's going to die of utter mortification on the spot. He's supposed to just show up in National City and marry Supergirl in some kind of arranged marriage? What did they think this was, some weird comic book and they'd become some unstoppable married couple?

What was his life becoming?

But he still shows up in National City, pretty sure he's as red as his suit. He's getting married in two days. To someone he's never met.

Was it too late to just phase right through the Earth and hide for a few years?

Probably.

Kara's pretty sure this is the skeeviest moment of her life. She's never tried to use her powers to sneak on people, unless they're a bad guy, and this is... not that. No, right now, she's hovering, at night, outside of what she thinks if hotel room 1408, of the tallest hotel in National City. The lights are off, but she's heard movement and wonders if The Flash is still awake.

She shouldn't... she shouldn't look. It wouldn't be right. He could be naked.

But they're going to be getting married! That's a big deal! Kara bites her lip until it stings and finally just... goes for it, lowering her glasses to the tip of her nose and peering through the curtained windows in front of her. She sees through the cloth, and peers into the darkened room until her vision adjusts, making out the outline of the bed, the dresser with the tv perched atop, a nondescript desk and comfy chair.

There's a lump on the bed, twisted sheets, and... that must be him. She sort of knows what he looks like; there's been some news footage, and she made Alex do some DOA digging on him along with her own journalistic digging the second she found out? agreed? to this whole arrangement.

Well, she knows what a guy in a red suit looks like, at least.

After a moment, she shoves her glasses up her nose, cutting off the stalker vision at least, and floats down, walking back to her apartment, her head cluttered with thoughts.

She doesn't get much sleep - or, well, any sleep - especially since she's stayed up on the phone off and on with her sister, finalizing her plan.

Today, she's going to try to meet The Flash - before they get married. She can at least do that.

She hopes.
