It had been five weeks since the incident, five weeks since Rogue's powers had returned and Remy had ended up unconscious for two days. five weeks of avoidance and awkwardness and... sheer misery.

Things hadn't ended well for them. When he had awoken he hadn't wanted to be anywhere near her for so many reasons, some he'd had a hard time admitting even to himself. Mainly he was afraid. He was afraid of what she could do to him, afraid of what she had seen in his mind, and afraid of how he felt about her despite it all.

He had tried to forget her, to push her from his mind with alcohol and one night stands but it was never enough. It was time to face his fears head on. Standing just outside her bedroom door, Remy hesitated before finally knocking.
