Be your starcrossed more than friend
![]() |
| There's nothing in this world quite like a true, blue best friend that you can rely on. They've been with you through thick and thin, good and bad. You want to have fun? They're the first person you look for, because they always know how to bring the best out in you. You need a shoulder to cry on? Don't worry, they're already here. You need to bury a body? ...you should probably reconsider your priorities, but you know your best friend will be there with a shovel and a smile. You'd never ruin this friendship for ANYTHING in the world. Something's brewing that may do just that, though. One of you has feelings, has for a long time, and that spells trouble. Unless you keep that to yourself and remain platonic, of course. Repression in this case might be a good thing. Only it's too late. The cat's out of the bag, whether it's by confession or by accident. What to do, what to do? If feelings aren't returned, can you turn down a friend, or will you force something that isn't there just to make them happy? If feelings are returned, will you risk changing the perfect thing you have?

"Shion! Shion, where are you?"
Ruby had been in search for Shion for a bit - to her, she was one of her best friends and for her to disappear for so long (at least, to Ruby) felt odd and worrying. In her search, she found herself heading towards probably the one place Shion didn't want anyone finding: her basement.
"Shion, you down here?"

Another one to kill. It was getting so bothersome. Then again, to a point, challenges were all what being a Shinozaki was about. The voice sounded familiar but what difference did it make now? Her fate seemed to be leading her towards a pile of corpses one way or the other. And still, no vengeance was steep enough to quell her despair at never being able to meet Satoshi again. Anyone who got in the way of that revenge was just fodder.
That's why Ruby may not hear the steps behind her or the blow that was coming to her head until it was too late.

She stopped as she heard the footsteps and turned around just in time to meet the blow coming to her head, knocking her out cold. It would be awhile before she'd come to.

She bit down at her thumb as she considered the girl that was tied up on the crucifix.
It should be Satako hanging there, not Ruby! she thought with a vicious snarl. She's really the one to blame. She's the one who drove Satoshi away.
If there was just some way she could convince Ruby to keep quiet. Maybe the girl hadn't seen anything. If so, there was hope. She continued to sit there in the shadows, just out of sight.
Mion or Shion? Who was which anymore? Did it matter? She was a demon now.

"Ow... that hurt... wh-where am I?" she groaned. "Wha...?" she started to notice where she was tied up to. "What's going on here?!"
