[ Unlike Yayoi, he found their apparent solitude less unexpected. The past few days had drawn long, their recent activity exhaustive. Too many cases. Too little time. He didn't have it in him to fault Guni the respite, not when he, like Yayoi, had an inkling that it wouldn't be long lived.

His hands joined over the desk, clasping to support his chin. ]


That's acceptable. After all, I still have you to chaperone and defend my virtue against the dangers of the night.

I'm sure your virtue is the last thing you need to worry about if a Nightbreed decides to attack.

[She stands up and decides to sit on the edge of his desk. Her skirt was a bit on the shorter side and she's careful not to expose too much more leg as she leans closer to him.]

And I can take care of myself.

[And she leans in and kisses him on the cheek. She's not quite sure why she did that, but she just shrugs it off.]

You haven't fed in a few days.

[ Loathe though he is to admit it, the comfort of her presence comes as something of a reassurance, in light of - everything. His hand catches one of hers briefly, raising it to press his lips over her knuckles in answer. ]

So I haven't. I thought you might appreciate further rest.

[She gives him a smile. He was probably one of the few people she really considered a friend, despite the fact that he was a Vampire and one of the Nightbreed that she should be hunting.]

I'm sure I can take it.

[She squeezes his hand after he kisses her knuckles.]

[ He tugs on their joined hands, drawing her slightly closer over the desk to inspect the side of her neck for its healing marks. It wouldn't do to tear, after all. ]

I'm also sure...

[ The tissue's not doing poorly at all... ]

You're only one human being. You should look after yourself.

I've been resting.

[She shifts slightly so that she's not uncomfortable as he looks at the side of her neck.]

I do look after myself, Shido.

[She gets plenty of rest when she's at home and she eats well. She knows how to take care of herself, even if some of the cases take up a lot of her day.]

[ He releases her hand, fingers catching on her jaw, tipping it up to reveal a greater expanse of soft skin. ]

I would be remiss to accuse you of incompetence on any ground.

[ He leans in to let lips hover over the familiar vein, stopping for one moment before - ]

Do excuse me.

[ - moving to bite in. ]

[She just smirks at him a bit as she moves just a little bit more before he leans in to bite. She closed her eyes right as his fangs sank into the soft skin of her neck. A soft groan escapes her lips as the familiar, oh so good, feeling of his bite washes over her.]

Ahh...Shido...

[Both his and Riho's bites always felt so good. Because of her past dealings with Nightbreed, she didn't become a vampire when she was bitten. She was glad to be able to help them out.]
