Rain Meme

Caught in the rain
It started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm. Time to find cover. Nothing much to do but to wait it out.
Scenarios listed below for those who want 'em.
i WHERE:
001 PLAYGROUND - Well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun?
002 PARK - Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT - Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of.
004 THE BEACH - Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm.
005 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it.
ii HOW:
001 TREE - Not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet.
002 UMBRELLA - Most conventional... Kinda boring. But it works.
003 NEWSPAPER - Not permanent, but it'll have to do. Good luck.
004 BAG - Well... y'gotta do what you gotta do.
005 NONE - You know what. You're a rebel. You don't need cover. Screw convention.
006 WILD CARD - that's the way you need it.
iii WHY:
001 REJECTED - Welp. Rejection sucks. And no one will see you crying in the rain.
002 WAITING - For the bus? For someone else? For some revelation? What are you waiting for.
003 MELANCHOLY - Sometimes the best place to feel a bit down is out in the rain.
004 HAPPINESS - Is everything going your way? Are you singing a refrain while walking down the lane? Just singing. Singin' in the rain.
005 ANGER - WELL YOU KNOW WHAT. SCREW YOU TOO, RAIN.
006 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it.
>> POST with your character
>> TAG others, use RNG if you need to, or just make up your own scenario if you want!

[Zack leaned bodily into Jason's side, feeling warmer in spite of the rain with Jason showing him affection.
He looked down at the bike, then back at Jason. This kid was crazy if he really thought both of them were gonna make it anywhere on that bike without eating shit. It was a worthy challenge.]
Yeah? What do I do, sit on the handles?
no subject
It was more likely that they'd die from the ride than from fighting clay monsters, but he wasn't about to walk 3 hours to make it back to Angel Grove.]
Well, yeah.
no subject
He let go of Jason and propped himself against the handlebars.]
Alright, dude, let's do it.
no subject
He unlocked the door and they stepped into the living room. Jason was holding Zack's hand, guiding him through the rooms. The house was pitch black and Jason did not want to wake his dad by any means so they'd have to walk in the dark for now.
Jason opened the door to his room and pulled Zack in. He only lets go of his hand to turn on the light by his bed.]
So, uh... Sorry about the pothole. Is your nose okay? You bled a lot.
no subject
It was kind of nice--not in a weird way. Smashing his nose and biting through his lip wasn't nice--but laughing about it was, and coming out of this looking like a zombie attack survivor was hilarious.
He held his breath as they walked through the house, partially because he didn't want to wake Jason's family, but partially just because Jason was holding his hand.
He shrugged when Jason asked after his nose, tapping it to show it was no longer hurting him.]
It's totally fine. You're lucky we heal like this or else I'd be next level deformed right now.
no subject
It clicked back in pretty fast, at least. The fall looked pretty bad.
[He cleared his throat and walked across the the room to his dresser. He pulled a pair of t-shirts and threw one of them at Zack.] I think this'll fit you. I can get you a towel too.
no subject
"Cash Only." Man, you ain't getting this one back.
[He pulled his shirt up over his head and looked around for a place to leave it where it wouldn't drip on anything. He was already tracking water all over the floor anyway, but he figured it was the thought that counted.]
A towel's probably a good idea. Where you want me to stick this?
no subject
[ Jason tries to keep this conversation without looking down, despite his best efforts he ends up glancing at Zack's bare chest and abs. He forces his look to the side and reaches for Zack's soaked shirt.] here, I'll take it-- I'm just gonna throw it in the hamper and maybe wash it later if that's okay.
[ He rolls up the shirt and throws it into his laundry basket. He reached for another drawer and pulled two towels but this time he tosses one so it falls right over Zack's head.]
no subject
[Zack handed over his shirt and began stepping out of his pants when he was blinded by a towel hanging over his head. He scrubbed his hair dry and draped it over his shoulders, toeing his boots off and tossing his pants over to Jason.]
I see how it is, man. Trying to bag my face.
[He smiled good-naturedly and dried the rest of himself off, trying to dislodge his wet, clingy wedgie with as much grace as possible.]
We can't all be pretty-boys like you, dude.
no subject
If anything you're prettier than me dude, stop.
[ Jason unzipped his jeans and kicked them off. He didn't bother with the hamper anymore since it was full. He sat on his bed and made a quick job of drying his hair and shoulders with the towel, thankfully his boxers were mostly dry.]
Are you tired at all? [ Jason doubted Zack was, but it didn't hurt to ask.]
no subject
Well, it was something.]
I--no, I'm--that's--look, I'm no pretty boy jock like you, alright?
[Nice, well done, Zack. He looked at Jason sitting on his bed in his underwear and lamented, for a second, that he never played sports. Maybe he and Jason would have been friends sooner, first of all. But also, maybe his locker room fantasies would have come true.
No, stop, focus, Zack. Back to earth.]
Uh, no. [He pulled on the shirt Jason lent him and sat next to him on the bed.] But we can go to bed, you must be wiped.
no subject
Alright, but you still are.
[ He was still not wearing a shirt when Zack sat next to him. He really wasn't tired either, probably because Zack was there his brain felt wired and restless and even a little anxious.]
I'm fine, I really don't think I want to sleep right now. [ meaning I really want to stay up with you.]
no subject
He stayed there, propped up against Jason, and took comfort in how warm he felt in spite of how cold it had felt outside.
Jason was a good distraction; it was hard to think of anything but him when he was this close and this shirtless. He ducked his head and kissed Jason's shoulder despite his anxiety.
No guts, no glory. That was the motto that had gotten him this far.]
You sure? You don't have to stay up on my account, dude.
no subject
Yeah, I'm sure--I want to stay up with you.
[He felt like an idiot, being this reactive to something so small. He didn't want it to be so obvious (a little too late for that).
He took Zack's face in his hands and kiss him on the lips. He did it slower and softer than usual, by the time he pulled back he could feel his pulse racing like crazy.
very smooth, Jason.]
no subject
Alright. Cool, then.
[He tried to think of something cool to say--or funny, anything--but his head was empty of everything other than his mom and how stupidly nervous it made him to be sitting so close to Jason.
Mercifully, though, Jason didn't leave him hanging for long. He leaned into him when Jason kissed him, reaching up to wrap his hands around Jason's wrists. He liked the smell of him--just rain, and deodorant, and sweat--and he felt remarkably gay for even thinking about that.
Zack wasn't sure if this was okay--the way his stomach churned and his heart raced and his head swam just from the feel and smell of Jason. He tried to push that thought away, chalking it up to his heightened anxiety.
He pulled back and smiled at Jason impishly, squeezing his wrists.]
So this is why you wanna stay up.
no subject
He laughed and held Zack's gaze even though it made him feel exposed and transparent. Was he being too forward?
It just felt right to him to go for it, it still did. So in that burst of confidence he kissed Zack once more, short and sweet. ]
No, I mean-- yeah. I like it, this. But we can do anything you want, really.
[ Lowkey he just hoped it was more of this, but he also highkey just wanted Zack to be comfortable and able to decompress.]
no subject
He nodded, feeling shyer than was cool. He pulled Jason down to lay next to him in the bed and took his hand, settling close enough to feel Jason's breath against his face.]
I like it too.
[He paused, lowering his eyes and thinking for a moment. He wasn't sure what was okay to say--but they'd said they liked each other, at least, already. He wanted to remind Jason, though he was sure he hadn't forgotten.]
I like you. I'm glad you brought me home with you.
no subject
He liked Zack, a lot, more than anyone he could remember. He knew that some point he'd have to think about it and not just int he sense of what he'd like to kiss him or that he likes the way he smiles at Jason when he thought nobody was looking.
Not today, though. ]
I like you too. [ He used his free hand to hold Zack by the waist and pulled him closer to him, their joined hands trapped in the middle. He had never been like this with anyone before so he was just really playing it by ear. ]
You can crash here whenever, [ He squeezed Zack's hand and kissed his cheek, if this helped in making things better then it wasn't just Jason being selfish about it, right? ]
no subject
Yeah, I bet I can.
[He pressed close against him, trying to quiet the anxiety in him. It was easier with Jason overwhelming his senses, close as he was. The buzz in his head about his life, the team, Jason's dad sleeping two doors down felt duller.]
I'll remember that, man. Next time there's a storm I won't go all the way to the mines.
no subject
He was relieved to hear Zack wouldn't spent the nights alone at the mines whenever he felt anxious and restless. It made Jason feel like chasing after him was the best he could have done.]
Even if there isn't one. Anytime you feel like it, I mean it.
no subject
[Zack was pretty sure he was going to take Jason up on that as much as possible while he could. There were some days when being alone was exactly what he needed--but being with friends was always better, and being with Jason was the best.
He was lucky everything had gone down the way it did, from the minute he heard Billy blow up that rockface. It was weird to think where he'd be now without him.]
Yo, can I ask you something? Like, for real?
no subject
This could go anywhere, really. So Jason better be prepared.]
Yeah, what is it?
no subject
He shook his head, staying on his side and looking at Jason uncertainly.]
Do you think we'll still be able to hang out and stuff if I end up having to live in a group home or something? Outside of Angel Grove? I mean, I'm still gonna have to be the black ranger, right?
no subject
If they take him. ]
Yeah, we will. If I have to fix my shitty car to come get you I'll do it. And I really doubt Zordon would try to find a replacement based on your address.
You're the black ranger and that's not something that you'll be free from anytime soon.
no subject
He knew, realistically, that being the black ranger wouldn't change when his life changed in that way. He just wanted to hear it, maybe. That Jason would still want Zack to be around, even if Zack lost everything else.]
You're a really good friend, Jason. Like, the best. I don't know what I'd do without you guys.
