Caught in the rain

It started out quietly, and then, quite suddenly, you're caught in a storm. Time to find cover. Nothing much to do but to wait it out.

i WHERE:
001 PLAYGROUND - Well, you can try to hide under the slide or maybe in the jungle gym... at least you're some place fun?
002 PARK - Always happens, caught outside trying to take advantage of the weather... and it ends up pulling a fast one on you.
003 STORE FRONT - Better hope they have an awning you can take advantage of.
004 THE BEACH - Not exactly the best place to be during a rainstorm, however it is possible to get caught in a sudden storm.
005 WILD CARD - Anyway you want it.


ii HOW:
001 TREE - Not the best cover, but it'll have to do, stay close to the roots and you won't get too wet.
002 UMBRELLA - Most conventional... Kinda boring. But it works.
003 NEWSPAPER - Not permanent, but it'll have to do. Good luck.
004 BAG - Well... y'gotta do what you gotta do.
005 NONE - You know what. You're a rebel. You don't need cover. Screw convention.

[Whenever Dawn gets upset, there's usually only a few places she runs to hide and cry. Her room is the most frequently used, followed closely by Spike's crypt. She's currently stationed out in the cemetery, waiting for him to get back. Unlike Buffy, she's not (always) rude enough to just barge in his home and wait for him there.

After a humiliating day at school where the boy she liked rejected her in front of everyone, she never made it home. She knows Buffy is worried and probably has everyone out looking for her, paranoid that something's gotten to her.

But Dawn being Dawn doesn't really care.

It's raining like crazy, and she's caught out in the storm without an umbrella. She tries holding her backpack over her head at first, but eventually gives up and lets the rain soak her until she finds a tombstone with a little ledge for her to duck under. It does a good job making her feel more sorry for herself, which only keeps her crying as it gets later and later. She really should go home, she knows. But she wants to see Spike first. He always has a way of making things better. That, and there's not a chance she's going to risk running through the cemetery in this storm at night. There's no telling what kind of trouble she'll fall into if she does.]

[Spike had been out. Moping around over some bit of living flesh he couldn't have was depressing, so, when in doubt, go play kitten poker. The storm had started while he'd been at Clem's, and his friend had offered him a place to stay for the night, but nice as the guy was, Spike could only take so much of the smell. Besides, he'd been wiped out of his ante and there was a nice fat bag of blood back at the crypt for him.

He was thinking of just that tasty bit of numminess as he was headed home, jacket pulled up over his head to stave off the worst of that wet trickle down the back of his neck, enough so that he almost missed the sound of sobbing as he hustles past--]

[He jerks to a stop, frowning as he turns to see the sobbing younger sister of the object of his frustration. Bloody hell. How long had she been out in this weather? Did Buffy know where she was?

... Why did he have a feeling he was going to get blamed for this?]
