3. An ancient shrine that's rimed with age and full of sacred energy.
   
4. An old motel located in a quieter part of the city. An infamous murder happened there.
   
5. A used car (or closest setting equivalent thereof - horses and spaceships work) dealership.
   
6. In an old shed. It appears to have farming tools. Mistakes were made.
   
7. About to go through a drive-thru liquor store. More mistakes will be made shortly.
   
8. A lighthouse. A storm is coming.
   
9. Kinko's or the closest setting equivalent thereof. ...it makes sense in context.
   
10. Somewhere else.

What are you doing there?

1. You just got the wrong number/place/person and all of this was a mistake. Blind dates. Mistaken identity. You were drunk when boarding the boat and meant to go to Brazil instead of Isla Nublar. A teleportation spell went awry. Your spaceship had engine troubles and now here you are.
   
2. You're going someplace you probably shouldn't be going. Espionage? Curiosity? Some other reason? No matter what the reason is, you're tresspassing.
   
3. Dealing with the aftermath of some kind of bitter disappointment, terrible defeat, tragic loss, or horrible rejection. Or maybe it was not that bad, but...still. Gotta go through the process. You're drowning your sorrows in photocopies, dinosaur themed cocktails, or an old shed because mistakes were made.
   
4. Hunting for something! You might be the hunter or you might be the hunted; you might be searching for someone or something like a book, but no matter what it is you probably won't be there for long.
   
5. Gearing down for the last, great, desperate fight before reinforcements/the final boss is defeated/your side loses/some other reason. In more mundane settings you might one of the only employees working for the next five hours. It's probably going to be a long day/night/whenever it takes place. The calm before the storm.
   
6. Dealing with a monster transformation - yourself or someone else. You got bitten by a vampire, or you know someone who has. Or, if not a vampire, then zombies, pixies, werewolves...whatever.
   
7. You got a prophecy- you know, you know, but hear you out. You probably thought it was nonsense but the cat really did do the thing, and then there was that thing with the paint and now you're here. Maybe you want to warn someone before it's too late. Maybe you want to just get popcorn. Or maybe you want to confront the people you're sure are trying to scam you. Or maybe it's something else. Spy intel disguised in the form of a fortune? Who knows.
   
8. There is a bomb, or, if not a bomb, some other situation in which if you fuck up a bunch of people are going to die really quickly. You're the only person who can disarm this situation. Don't screw up.
   
9. You got kidnapped, just woke up, and some evil mastermind is telling you that you need to run around solving puzzles like you're Professor Layton for a few hours. Bomb collars may be involved. Something like that.
   
10. As these options suck? Something the fuck else.

[ Madripoor was safe for now. Tyger Tiger was alive, despite Kimura's best efforts and Kimura herself? Drowned and gone and Laura couldn't help but feel relieved. So much so that she decided to take a vacation. She was going to fly to Canada. Just her. Gabby was going to stay home at the X-Mansion because there were things Laura needed to do on her own. Like find a way to say goodbye to her father.

But the flight from Madripoor to Canada was grounded due to a faulty engine and the airline said they couldn't find a replacement flight for two days. How that was possible? She had no god damn clue, but now the twenty-three year old Mutant was in fucking Gotham City of all places, trying to find a hotel for the night that didn't smell like murder and drugs and God knew what else.

As if the downed flight and delay in her plans wasn't bad enough, Laura really couldn't find any manner of hotel. Most buildings were being repaired from some incident involving a Metahuman and a doomsday device and the ones that weren't were crowded until tomorrow so, after some wandering, she ended up in a seedy bar to get really bad food to eat.

It was crowded. Rowdy. Noisy. Easy to disappear into. She hoped.


Her luck isn't that good yet, is it?

No. Because the rowdy part? It gets amped to Eleven and some guy gets punched, falling into her food and knocking her beer over.

Laura, unphased as she wants to be, shoves the person away and looks at her decimated hot wings. An eyebrow ticks up in anger and she sighs, turning towards the fight to see who started it and how she can end it before anyone gets killed. ]

[Who would've thought the dimension-hopping train would land the rangers in a steampunk world that hates witchcraft... and who thinks their clothes make them seem like witches. Not only did it land them here, it also scattered them, and it's through sheer dumb luck (or fate? no, probably luck) that Summer and Dillon have found each other.

The closest abandoned building is the lighthouse, and with a storm coming, the people in town won't come here, of all places, to look for witches.

Summer sighs as she bars the door shut. They are, for the moment, safe.]

It might not be a lighthouse, but a fisherman's cabin, half collapsed, but the storm is still coming. It's brewing above the vast body of the water and they aren't going to make back to the busted truck and the rest of the team before it gets there. They walked along the lake's shore while looking for something they could use, more food, anything useful, really.

It's not raining yet. It looks pretty okay, actually, but the way Lalli is wrinkling his nose when he settles beneath the roof of the fisherman's house, you could think it's already pouring. He takes a seat and just waits.
