[Kyoko is like a stray cat.

She has no set schedule, no path, and no any one place where she stayed. She might warm up to people, but never enough to really trust. She was secretive and a little bit flaky, prone to disappearing for days or weeks on end, only to return nursing fresh wounds and looking for a place to stay. Then once she recovered, it was back to the same--back to the rest of her life, the part that others could only guess at.

Right now, she's reduced to licking her wounds.

There wasn't any particular reason that she had chosen this place. Not now, not any more than any time she had before. It was convenient, and the people who lived here weren't bad. It was a happy coincidence that they'd run into each other, repeatedly, that she'd gotten to know them. And it was luck that she hadn't been turned down the first time she'd asked, back at a time when she really had no where else to go (or maybe it was only natural--no one really wanted to have letting a child freeze to death on their conscious.)

Though she supposes there might be a few reasons. None in particular, but a few that don't hurt. Amal is... Nice. Awkward, obviously not comfortable around teenagers, but nice enough. Not too intrusive, and never quite pushy enough to chase her off. She doesn't really mind being around him or TJ. She felt like she needed to be a little less guarded here. It was a little uncomfortable, but... It wasn't a bad feeling.

Not that she could put any of that into words. Kyoko is sprawled out across his couch now, laying flat on her belly with her head resting in the crook of her elbow. She's staring blankly at her phone, some article or another written on it. It was worth it to look at the news here and there, see what areas were busy. And a thought occurs--not for any particular reason, but not out of no where, either. It's something that's been hovering in the back of her mind for awhile now.

Things had gotten a bit uncomfortable.]

[Despite the subject, there's no annoyance in her voice. It's a bored little mumble that comes out instead, and her eyes don't move from the screen of her phone. She doesn't care, truthfully. She might have offered before she thought about it, but they didn't really talk about things like that. Economics were boring. But maybe, it was a little strange that she hadn't given much of anything in return for his favors until now. Nothing more than replacing whatever she'd taken, nothing more than bringing in odd things--snacks, food, always enough for whoever might be there.]

On Sovereign, Saren burned in agony from the loss of his right arm, and stared wordlessly at his missing limb, the puddle of blood under the cockpit. The ship was cold and lifeless and he was there alone, as he always was throughout his life. He was certain he would die that way. There were whispers passing through this mind telling him that this situation could be salvaged. This could be the start of something new. He didn't see how. If he went anywhere, it would bring more questions then it was worth, and this ship hardly had anything resembling a med bay or a medic. He had taken measures to stave off the blood loss but it was a pointless effort he was sure.

Saren always knew that he wasn't invulnerable and he would die like anything else. That was part of the weakness of being organic. He wondered about the legacy he would leave behind. Not much of it would be celebrated, he was certain, but he never strived for any sort of recognition anyhow.

Saren closed his eyes, thought about Nihlus, the only good thing to come out of his career. Nihlus. His...friend? It was a strange and foreign word to him, even now, after all of the years they shared. Thinking about Nihlus though...it allowed him to be at peace, almost.

He longed for Nihlus' presence but the best he could do was feign that it was Nihlus' face staring back at him in the feed he was broadcasting to his protege. Nihlus would receive this video, reach the logical conclusion about his status, and know to move on. Dying was fine, Saren thought. At least someone would know and remember him. Nihlus would be fine. Nihlus would survive without him, progress forward in ways he was never able. He didn't mind having his legacy end with Nihlus.

The feed would roughly end with Saren's eyes closed. Months of radio silence would pass by before Nihlus would receive a brief message attached with coordinates and a specified time frame that he would easily be able to trace back to Saren. Meet me in Omega.

Saren would be found huddled at the bar, cowl obscuring most of his body, especially his new cybernetic arm which was nursing hard alcohol. ]
