Mystical hot springs
A SMUT MEME ![]() |
| Hot springs are considered rejuvenating in many cultures, from Asia to Europe. All that natural heat and the minerals from the earth flow through water and call throngs of people to come and enjoy the resorts that pop up around these wonders of the world. You, however, would never go to one. You're insecure about baring it all in public; maybe you don't even go out in public because your appearance would make the uncaring crowd lash out at you. Maybe it's just not your scene. You could not know anything about hot springs! But you're at one now, no matter what, and you're going to be taking a skinny dip - or near it - whether you like it or not. To make matters worse, you're sharing your little pool with someone else. Hey, you don't know them! This place could not even be in your world or your time. There's little options otherwise, though, so you might as well enjoy the time you're here. Soak and relax, let those tired muscles get a break. Soon, all your troubles, your worries, your ailments, your imperfections all begin to fade away...as do your misconceptions. You know this person, don't you? Yes, you do. Actually you know them very well. You're with them. You came with them, it seems to you, to reconnect, a lover's getaway. After all, what's more steamy than a hot springs? So go ahead, do what you've intended to do. No one will mind if you get a little frisky in the springs if it helps out your relationship; besides, what do you think some of the extra natural minerals are for? They'll certainly help you get hot under the collar, not that you'll need that. Your (new) mutual history should be enough.

Normally, he's alone. This time, unusually enough, there are a couple of Tekkadan members milling about, the ones who have accepted his offer to enjoy his residence after a particularly grueling fight. It's a small surprise that they have; he understands that their relationship is one set with many boundaries in place. In truth, he's not sure why he extended the invite in the first place, but now that they're here...
He rests his back against the stone wall, chin tilting up as relaxation sets in. There aren't many things that shake his composure, and sharing these springs with Mikazuki Augus won't be one of them.]
It's a wonderful view, isn't it? I would be content to offer my hospitality to Tekkadan in the future, if you ever wish to return.
[Straightening his posture now, he sends Mika a gentle smile.]

A cold external tap in the streets of Chryse could clean up wounds, but outdoor bathing had never crossed his mind as a luxury. Compared to the cramped industrial showers that he and his comrades had always tried their hardest to evade, the serene view before him seemed all the more like a world he did not really belong to. He smiled softly to himself. Orga had led them to another incredible place...
The familiar voice of McGillis Fareed stirred him from his reverie. Mika became conscious that he should say something, they were imposing on the mans hospitality, after all. He regards the Gjallarhorn general curiously. He is partially obscured by the steam, but the expression on his face seems to be friendly.]
Mm, It's very beautiful.
[He raises a hand to scratch the back of his neck absently, returning his focus to the water in front of him]
Tekkadan's business is up to Orga. He's in the main building now with Eugene and those guys now, I think, if you want to look for him...

That's alright. I'll speak with him again before your departure.
[Perhaps it's an attempt to allow McGillis to exit this potentially awkward scenario, but he does not feel awkward and would prefer to stay and speak with Mika. It's not often he gets a chance to converse with Tekkadan outside of business. Again, it surprises him that he has the interest. It's been some time since they began their partnership, which allows his regard for the incredible group of fighters to build on itself quite naturally.
Their bonds are fascinating, he has to admit.]
May I ask -- is it strange, being exposed to the life of a Seven Star? You're free to voice your honest opinion with me. [A pause, before-] Although, I must say, you've never struck me as a person who is unwilling to speak freely.
[That very slight fondness from before, it finds its way into his smooth voice on the finish.]

[ A small smile flickered across Mikazuki's face, almost imperceptibly. Derision and disgust would have been a common reaction from a man of such social standing, but in that gentle voice, he detects mere curiosity. And something else...
From their disastrous meeting at Sakura's farm, McGillis Fareed had proved himself an anomaly. He did not retch or back away with fear from his whiskers, as would not have been uncommon for a man of his illustrious position. It almost seemed like there was something more he knew. When Mika had fought against him in Barbatos, McGillis had been able to predict his very movements with ease. He was not one to underestimate his opponent, this much was clear. But Mika knew that there had been an instance of connection in that battle, a mutual respect he never would have anticipated from a Gjallarhorn officer. And he had felt that cool gaze searching him again, whenever he accompanied Orga on Tekkadan business...
Drawing himself up to full height, he faced McGillis. Although the water lapped around his bare chest, his eyes barely met the level of the larger man, seated on a ledge on the spring's stone wall. ]
It is strange... That a Seven Star chooses to bathe outside, when the house is this big...
[ He looks quizzically into McGillis's eyes, a small challenge. ]
Sharing your bath water with a space rat... Does it not disgust you?

Mika, small stature, yet brilliantly strong young man, hits him with a slightly challenging gaze, a subtle smile playing across his face. It's a look that McGillis finds captivating, for the times that Tekkadan have acknowledged him without much suspicion are memories that he keeps close. He understands, perhaps more than other Gjallarhorn elites, why they edge around him with care even as they deepen their partnership with him. It's not something he would begrudge them.
His own smile remains soft and inviting, and he gives a gentle head-shake when Mika outright asks him if he is disgusted.
No holding back, as he predicted. Another thing he likes.]
It is an outdated viewpoint that I do not share. Gjallarhorn conveniently stigmatizes any source of power attainable by those they consider outsiders. One could say that their disgust confirms your worth.
[Meanwhile, they continue their research, preparing for the day they would gleefully use that same power against any who opposed them. Preparing for the justification of the use of force to bring down factions that they would then paint as unruly villains. He has seen it all, and that is why McGillis prepares first, and it is why he looks at Mika as if he represents something much greater than current state of Gjallarhorn.
Because he does.]
Your strength is nothing short of admirable, Mikazuki Augus. It's my honor to share what I have with you.

Mika tried the word in his head. There was no hint of derision in McGillis's voice, but the praise felt alien to him all the same.
The killing of men. His strength. The noble words of the Gjallarhorn soldiers sounded strangely incongruous.
He thought of the Alaya-Vijnana implants that allowed him to move Barbatos like an extension of his own body. That gave him raw power unmatched amongst even Tekkadan's strongest. Without that... No. As long as Orga had orders to give, he would carry them out. His strength, his life... it was all Orga's. It was the same for all of them, probably.
He searched McGillis's face further, but those eyes shone with a puzzling conviction. Fixed on him, expectantly.
What did this man see, to look at him with those eyes?
They were barely three feet apart, but Mika leaned towards the Gjallarhorn general, paying no mind for his personal space.
What could have almost been a mischievous smile tugged at the corner of his mouth, and was gone again in an instant.]
You... admire me?
no subject
Mika is already so close, standing in the springs a mere few feet away from McGillis's ledge, but he leans in closer still. The ripple of water displaced by movement, regardless of how soft as it is, is something he feels against his skin a bit too distinctly. He pauses, a beat that passes between them, and scans the interesting quirk of Mika's mouth. He then lifts his chin and settles his gaze back on bright blue eyes. Ones that, if he had to guess, are attempting to discern the legitimacy of his compliments. They look straight through him --
But McGillis is difficult to read, a bastion of composure in the face of a probing question. He remains fixated on Mika, smiling all the while (softer still, eyes lidding) and undisturbed by his proximity.]
Yes.
[Casually, he removes the folded towel on top of his head and nudges long wet bangs away from his face.]
Tekkadan's way of fighting, I admire it. I could expand upon that, if you like.
[Oh, could he ever. There's something smoky in his reply, in the way that he frames it. McGillis squeezes some of the excess moisture from his towel before replacing it. His forearm just barely brushes against Mika's shoulder when he does this, although he doesn't seem to notice.]
