Hug Meme: Classic Version

Post with your character, canon, and any notes/preferences. (If it is normally impossible for your character to give or receive hugs, like if they don't have limbs or are incorporeal, be sure to tell us whatever you're changing for them to participate.)

Tag other people; either roll a number from 1 to 8 or pick a hug, and give them that hug.

1. Friendly Hug: The default hug; a hug as a show of platonic affection. Is it a normal hug, or a pouncetackleglomp? You decide!

2. Romantic Hug: Kissing isn't the only way that lovers share physical affection. Show your feelings with a romantic hug!

3. Comfort Hug: They look so sad... give them a hug to cheer them up!

4. Awkward Hug: You really don't want to give this person a hug; maybe you just had a fight, or you're just too stoic/manly/badass to do hugs in general. Too bad, you have to give them one. Do your best!

5. Scoop Hug: In addition to a hug, the hugger picks up the huggee slightly off the ground. Works best when they're bigger and stronger, but hey, seeing little girls try to pick up 6-foot badasses is cute too.

6. Surprise Hug: Sneak up on them from behind with a surprise hug!

7. Violent Hug: Hugs are supposed to be friendly, what gives? Whether you're squeezing the wind out of them or are just getting them into the perfect position for a backstab, you're only giving this person a hug in order to hurt them.

8. Other: Reroll, pick your own, mix and match, etc.

Head tipped off to the other side to grant Sans a little extra space at that shoulder, Papyrus cocks up a questioning brow. Come on, this should be obvious. His tone is only a little impatient when he answers while Sans does not, "SANS YOU KNOW THIS HAS TO BE FINISHED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO IT CAN BE FINE TUNED AND RECALIBRATED AT LEAST FIVE TIMES BEFORE THE VERY IMPORTANT HUMANS COME. BESIDES, I GET MY GREATEST IDEAS AT NIGHT!" Specifically because there is so little to distract Papyrus at these hours.

It is when he looks down to his work that he spots the new sloppy mark with a disapproving huff. Papyrus turns his pencil over to remove it with careful attention to leave the actual drawing intact, eraser scratching gently on the paper. Without prompt, he adds more to the thought, "BESIDES, USING THE SCALES TO OPEN THE DOOR OUT WILL NEED TO BE VERY PRECISE AND I HAVE TO FIGURE OUT JUST HOW MUCH TO USE TO BALANCE IT."

[trombones]

"I'm just saying--"

Sans holds a hand up. Outward, over Papyrus' shoulder.

"--you've been doing that all day, bro. A break's not gonna kill you."

A pause taken as he glances at that hand, he gets the feeling Sans is going to be insistent. He did, after all, make the effort to come outside to lounge on him. After a slow breath in, Papyrus replies with hesitation slowing the cadence of his words, "I SUPPOSE I COULD TAKE A FEW MINUTES..."

Focus shifted back to his brother at his shoulder, he is curious, "DID YOU HAVE SOMETHING IN MIND?"

[trombones]

The skeleton stays lazily draped over Papyrus' back. He props his head up and grins.

"I mean more like, taking it easy. Just in general. You want something to eat?"

Edit 2 back; "AND I GET MY GREATEST IDEAS AT NIGHT!" (/facepalms at self)

Directly looking at Sans, Papyrus resists the attempt at corruption, "SANS I DON'T HAVE TIME TO BE LAZY! I CAN RELAX AFTER THE VISITORS HAVE LEFT NEW NEW HOME, THROUGHLY BEFUDDLED BY MY ADVANCED PUZZLE-BUILDING SKILLS!" This puzzle could potentially make or break the visit!

"ISN'T IT TOO EARLY FOR BREAKFAST?" he wonders. He could easily eat something now that Sans has reminded him food exists, but he very much dislikes the idea of getting a midnight snack. In the dark, without a clock however, he cannot be sure if it is still too early for breakfast.

[trombones]

"Alright, alright. Let's at least take a break then, alright?"

The skeleton's other arm comes up. It's his comb. He combs his skull for a second, then offers it to Papyrus.

"It's 3 AM. Close enough, though. The Denny's down the street's still open."
