WHAT'S MY AGE AGAIN?
![]() AMNESIA MEME That's right. Somehow, some way, you've forgotten things. Important things. Whether it's a full memory wipe or just some things, whether it's temporary or permanent, whether it's magical, physical, mental, this is where you explore it. Was it an accident? Did someone do it on purpose? How will you remember? Will you ever? Let's find out! |

He laughs at the biting commentary about Skeeter. She's a heinous bitch and the absolute last person Scorpius wants to be here right now. This is a happy moment, and a private one.] Let's start with just family, yeah? Practice or no, I don't want to share this day with anyone like her.

His mouth twists into a vague smirk, an unkind one he reserves for special occasions. ] If you insist, I'll wait. [ A beat. ] You can't go anywhere, though. There's the—the thing. [ Wow, articulate. But he means the call function, a little magical chime that will alert the healers that they're needed in the room. It'll snowball from there.
After a brief pause, he holds out a hand toward the control and curls his fingers slightly, testing without his wand. For a second there's a strange warbling sound before it goes off proper. ]
Huh. Good enough for now.

He lets Albus activate the call function, giving a little bounce of excitement in his chair when the wandless motion works.] Let's get this show on the road.
[Hopefully they wouldn't want to keep him too long after they ran all the tests they needed. Scorpius was more than qualified enough to observe him for any negative side-effects or returning symptoms, and he could do it from the comfort of their own flat.]

He sits back when they instruct him to and then: it's time to check him for any side effects. They ask him endless questions, test his magic, everything, anything—but it stops momentarily when The Parents appear. ]
Mum, dad, Draco. [ Calling him dad in public is a little (unsure), after all. ]

He has to let go of Albus' hand so they can do their tests, which is a shame, but he's sure as hell not going to leave his side.
He looks up when The Parents come in, and really, how happy they both look is answer enough.
Ironically, Albus now looks marginally more healthy than the rest of them; it's been a very stressful time.
Ginny openly fusses over Albus, Draco more stoic with his worry and relief, and Harry somewhere in between the two.
It's another few hours before Albus is released. Scorpius is given a lengthy list of things to keep an eye out for (as though he doesn't know, come on, this is his life's work) and Albus is cautiously prescribed to "rest whenever he feels the need and eat plenty of good food". Mostly they don't want him to push himself too hard too fast.
The news of Albus' recovery gets passed through the Potter-Weasley grapevine and Scorpius is sure there'll be some big celebratory thing with the whole family and then some in his honor in the next few days, but for now, they get to go back to their flat and have a little privacy.] How's the memory doing?

He's openly relieved when he can finally go home, coiled close to Scorpius' side the entire trip. He'll be happy do have a to-do later on, but for now he just wants to be home and make sure Scorpius rests. Home is... weird, when it comes to remembering things. It feels dark and foreboding and like it's suffocating him because he remembers yelling, remembers getting weaker, remembers not being able to do anything, remembers worrying everyone that cares for him. It's a lot all at once and it strikes him motionless.
There are a couple of moments where he stands with his brow furrowed before he comes out of the fog, looking at Scorpius and shrugging with a smile. ] Slow going, but it's going. [ A beat, and he considers something he remembered earlier. ] Did we really, in fourth year...? [ You know. The thing. ]

He almost starts to suggest that maybe they stay somewhere else for the night when Albus snaps out of the daze and-- they'll get through it. If it does get to be too much of a reminder, living here, they can always find somewhere else.
He huffs out a laugh at the question, tugging Albus over to the couch and flopping down on it.] Oh yes, that happened. Or, well, technically some of it didn't? But yes, we did.

He lets himself be dragged along before he settles atop Scorpius once the other wizard is settled in - he's smiling a little, looking down at him fondly. ] Did-but-didn't. What a couple of idiots we were. [ Yes, well. Eventually he tips his head forward to press their foreheads together, still looking at him.
He doesn't say anything for a very long time. When he does, it's almost reverent. ] I remember loving you. For ages and ages and ages.

Of late, he’s had to quiet himself, in a literal sense, in an effort to, at the very least, not worsen Albus’ constant headaches. This long moment of mutual quiet is different. He feels content in it.
The soft words that end that moment shake him more than he expected. He’s already cried once today but apparently his tear ducts aren’t done with him yet because his vision’s started getting a little blurry again. He sucks in a slightly wet breath and smiles.] I believe I was promised “every sort” of kiss. I’d like to cash one in now, please, before I start crying again.
[He’d hated having to hide his fears and worries from Albus. It had been necessary, Albus already had too much to deal with and it wasn’t like there was no one else Scorpius could talk to about it, he actually had a pretty good support system outside of Albus these days, but keeping anything from Albus was just not on. They told each other everything, they shared it all. It had tore at him. He’s so damn relieved that it’s over, for so many reasons. Mostly because he’d rather die than experience living in a world devoid of Albus again, even if it doesn’t come with Voldemort Day.]
