001. family: this person is like your child/tiny sibling. clearly a nose boop is in order
002. friend: you and your biffle, or even your newly acquainted friend, are hanging. now it is time for a nose boop.
003. enemy: you're in the middle of an argument or an actual fight with the enemy. a nose boop is obviously the best distraction tactic.
004. partner: you're being schmoopy with the object of your affections. boops on the nose are one way in which you do so.
005. other: the wildcard option. boop away.

Post with your character's name/series, and if you like specify if they are the booper or the booped. Nose boops can happen lips to nose, nose to nose, or finger to tip of nose. Now, go forth and nose boop someone.

No one would ever accuse Horatio Hornblower of being a silly person. He did a good deal of silly things, true, but those were never so much 'ha ha' silly as 'good God, man, never do that again because you can't be that lucky twice' silly or 'that cannot be a healthy way to conduct your emotional life' silly.

Being jealous of Kitty is, in its own way, actually fairly silly. There's nothing to be jealous of, after all. If her reappearance properly meant anything (which it hadn't), surely it was that Archie clearly wasn't going to be shaken away from their relationship (which he hadn't been). It isn't something which ought to be gnawing at his gut. It isn't something which ought to be sticking to the edge of his thoughts whenever he's alone.

They aren't overly demonstrative in public. That's not the sort of silly Horatio Hornblower has ever truly been. Today, however, there's the odd ghost of jealousy to keep fighting off. Today, there's the faintest sense that he would properly like the rest of the world to know that they're actually quite happily in love.

Kissing the end of Archie's nose in greeting isn't the silliest thing in the world, but it puts something half-startled and half-delighted in Horatio's eyes when he leans back from it in the middle of the hall. "--hey."

Clint couldn't help himself. Maybe nose boops weren't the sort of thing that that badass X-men did, but here at Avengers poker night... He looked around at Pietro and Peter. Neither of them so much as blinked. Peter probably would've done it himself after another few minutes, and Pietro was used to him and Peter by now.

Wolverine, though... Clint looked back into the older man's face and gulped.

[ It started off as a dare. It's still a dare. A stupid game of trying to one-up each other in a rare and quiet stretch of days that saw a smaller number of missions. A decrease in the frequency of daemons snapping at the coattails of their uniforms, at the edges of battle-drawn walls.

Boredom's not so bad, he'd said. And it's not, ultimately. A hundred wars for Lucis (for Galahd) to see decades of boredom-- that's always been the goal.

But they were only human, see. Soldiers. Soldiers without an outlet for the kind of restless energy that often tumbled them into ill-conceived decisions, usually in the veins of alcohol and pissing contests in the form of bar fights. Or, as it was in this case, a war of dares. And lucky, lucky him, falling victim to the highest honour of trying to boop the nose of a walking legend. The Immortal. (Well, let it not be said that Nyx didn't enjoy a good challenge. Remember him as a hero. Etcetera.)

And so, waiting for Cor at the corner of a low-traffic junction of the Citadel is Nyx, arms crossed. Relaxed. Nice and harmless until Cor comes within reaching distance, and-- ]
