Friday Night Excursions Meme

It’s Friday night, and you don’t have plans. Or maybe you have some really excellent plans involving your couch and your laptop, but your characters are in dire need of a social life. Grab your friends or text that cutie you swiped right on, you’re going OUT.


Scenarios:
1. Blind Date - You swiped right. Or, maybe this is an old-fashioned blind date, where your friends set you up. All you have is a time, date, place, and a name. Better hope they’re a good conversationalist, or you’ll be climbing out the bathroom window.
2. Game Center - Who’s ready for some SKEE-BALL? Mini-golf, anyone? Grab a friend or a date and school them in a game of laser-tag. Drunken laser tag? That’s what Friday nights were made for.
3. House Party - Sure, you were invited. Your friend’s cousin’s ex-roommate lives here. And you know… that guy. Fred? Fred. Okay, so maybe you’re crashing the party, and it is a rager. Get ready to get blackout drunk and jump off the roof, because it is Friday night and we are here to PAR-TAY.
4. Bar/Club Scene - Well, it’s better than drinking alone. Maybe you came with friends, maybe you’re just desperate to forget your loneliness, maybe you just honestly like sitting alone at the bar with a book. But hey, maybe you’ll meet someone cute, or maybe some jerk will try to slip something in your drink and you’ll end up best friends with the bartender who gets him arrested. Maybe you’ll try out a hip new club and get your grind on.
4a. ALT Bar/Club Scene - When I say BD you say SM. Or, maybe your alt club experience this evening is going to be one of those new hipster speakeasies. Maybe a swingers club? Whatever it is, you’re going to be walking a little bit off the beaten path tonight. Grab your tiger-print thong and curl your mustache, you’ve got an invite somewhere exclusive.
5. Meetup - You don’t need no dang romance (or maybe you do). You’re going to be spending the evening with your new crochet group. Craft beer enthusiasts. Improv acting troupe. Parcheesi players. Only, whoops, turns out everyone canceled except the two of you.
6. Great Outdoors - You know what weekends are for? CAMPING. Pile into the camper or heft your camping backpack, the world outside awaits. And if the wild world outside is a bit intimidating, there are always more suburban outdoor activities, like streaking through a moonlit park or starting a dumpster fire. Probably better to stick with camping. Camping builds character.
7. Great Indoors - The whole reason that humanity invented houses is because indoors is just plain better. You’ve got your couch, your pet, your laptop, some tea and a good book. And maybe a good friend or significant other to stay in and cuddle with you? Go on, invite someone over. You can make dinner, or order pizza, or just skip dinner and get straight to "dessert". There’s no work tomorrow, let’s stay up all night on a Sex and the City marathon.
8. Wreaking Havoc - Ordinary Friday night plans are for losers! Let’s put on our Halloween costumes and go TP a house. Let’s start a riot and party like it’s 1999. Go wild and crazy, paint outside the lines. It’s Friday!

[Noct knew he probably be shouldn't doing this but right now he didn't care. For all he knew Luna could be snatched back by the Empire at any second. Wrenched away from him for unknown amount of weeks or months. So, they were driving in the Regalia, or he was, whilst she was next to him in the passenger seat. They were going to a games arcade close by in Hammerhead. It couldn't hurt, right?]

You're still ok with this, right?

[ For what it's worth, Luna's not particularly concerned with being found. She's done her best to better blend in with the rest of society, which means she's traded in her dresses for tank tops, capri's, and flats (all in her signature white of course. she can't give up everything). When he speaks, she tears her gaze away from the desert landscaping -- which to most people would be boring scenery but to her it's amazing because she's never been able to really see it before now -- and flashes him a bright smile. ]

Of course. I've never been to an arcade before, so it's exciting.

[Noct smiled when he noticed Luna in normal everyday clothes. It was odd seeing her in what most girls would wear and not a princess. No dress this time but the white suited her. It always suited her.]

Nice clothes. Makes a change from those dresses you wear, right?

[It was a little awkward but then Noct was a little awkward around Luna these days. So many eyes watching them both. So much responsibility thrust upon their shoulders. He clasped her hand in his and offered her a shy smile.]

Guess this is a date.

[ It's a change, to say the least, not having to wear a gown or something constantly, and it's certainly a nice change at that. For once, when she goes out people don't know who she is just by looking at her, and that's something she can really appreciate. She doesn't have to be a princess or an Oracle, she can just be Luna.

She smiles brightly at his compliment, though, glad that he seems to approve. At the end of the day, the only opinion she really cares about is his, anyways. ]

Thank you. And yes, it's more comfortable, I'll give it that. I feel extremely short without my heels, though.

[ Mostly because she is compared to the four men she's traveling with. But that's a good thing, too, because it makes her less recognizable when they're out and about like this. She can, however, remember a time when she was taller than poor Noctis, having to lean down to address him properly.

Boy had he grown in twelve years.

He's still just as shy as ever, too -- but he's trying for her, and so she gently squeezes his hand and offers him another smile in return, her cheeks turning a light shade of pink. She never dreamed she'd get this chance, to be at his side just as she'd told Gentiana she'd wanted to do. ]

Indeed it is... thank you, Noctis, for spending time with me today. I really appreciate it. [ She does, too, more than he'll ever really know. ]

[He added the last sentence with a feint blush tinging his cheeks. Talking to girls was something Noct was woefully inexperienced at, since he spent most, if not all, his time with guys. Men his own age doing brave and sometimes stupid things. The guys. What would Specs or Gladio say if they knew Noct was taking Luna to a games arcade?]

It's ok. You don't need to thank me, Luna. I want to take you here today.

[It'll be more....normal? Maybe Luna can escape palace life for once and live like a normal girl. Even though both were far from normal; they were royalty. Noctis wanted to pretend he was a prince for the day and treat Luna out.]

[ Which is amusing to her, really. Sort of like how blushy Noctis is being right now; she can tell that he doesn't do this sort of thing often, and that fact makes this little date of theirs even more special to her. He doesn't have to bother with her like this, but he's going out of his way to show her a good time like the gentleman he is. ]

But this was so sweet of you. You didn't have to go out of your way for me.

[ She's happy to be out and about, especially alone with him. As much as she likes his friends, it's good to have a little time to themselves. Twelve years is a long time, and she knows that he must feel even the slightest bit awkward around her. It's inevitable, after all -- they're not children anymore, they're both adults now and a lot has changed.

His suggestion has her nodding and smiling, albeit a little sheepishly. ]

I would love that. Although, you may have to show me how... something tells me you're very good at it.

[Everything about today was about being with Luna and making her happy. Just being with her like a normal guy, not being a Prince. He wanted to laugh with her and maybe even win her a soft toy. That would be cool.]

Yeah, maybe I am pretty good at it. I want to see how good you're at it too.

[Because she might be too? He led her into the arcade and walked straight to the toy catcher machines. Placing some Gil into the nearest machine, he piloted the catcher to hover over a chocobo plushie. Come on....he had to get this.]

I'll bet you're more than good at it. I'll bet you're amazing at it. At the very least, you can laugh at me when I fail miserably.

[ She smiles at him as they walk, peering at him for a moment before her attention moves to the machine. What an adorable chocobo plushie. She watches with interest as the catcher wobbles its way down and clutches the toy, grasping it and pulling it up. ]

Wow... I see all your years of fishing have paid off. [ Because this is totally the same thing. ]

[Noctis laughed softly at her remarks about him being amazing.]

Nah, I'm not that great at it. Just maybe....pretty good?

[Stop boasting, Noctis, and catch something for the lady. He made sure to keep his hand on the button, as the catcher picked up the yellow chocobo plushie, dropping it into the empty tray beneath. He picked it up and offered it to her with a satisfied smile.]

He's pretty cute. You want to name him?

Well... I think you are amazing at it. Far more than just 'pretty good'.

[ She smiles and takes the plushie as he hands it to her, hugging it close to her chest as if she were some sort of small child. But she's not used to getting cute little gifts like this -- it's been well over twelve years since she's had any sort of stuffed animal. Not to mention it's from Noctis, how can she not love it? ]

Thank you! Yes, he is adorable... hm. A name...

[ She... actually looks like she's putting a LOT of thought into this. This is a very serious decision, after all. ]

Perhaps... Sunny. Because he is sunshine yellow. What do you think?
