Some things don't need explanations. Chicken wings. Wonderful weather. Guilty pleasures like Michael Bay movies. This meme is one of those things. It's simple: one character is in another's lap, and eventually the two get hot and heavy. Whether it's a friend sitting on a lap because there's no room, couples cuddling, or a stripper giving a lap dance, one thing will lead to another...after all, the loss of personal space can certainly set actions (and more) in motion.

He's not really complaining though-- not post competition and several drinks into his post-win celebrating. The weight and warmth are nice, actually, even before anything more sexual about the situation. So even though the words are maybe a little dismissive, they're said warmly enough and there's an arm loosely around Ilima's waist indicate he should stay there, more than to actually physically keep him from getting up.

[ Marion had been carrying a stack of books when she tripped on a bit of uneven rug she hadn't seen. Books went flying as well as a few papers. Somehow she stumbled and landed right in Jake's lap. Her back had hit part of the chair uncomfortably and she makes a face.

Not at him. At the books and how freaking stupid she must have looked. ]

I am literally the worst.[ She wiggles trying to sit up properly but her legs are a tangled mess over the other arm of the chair. Mostly she is just too embarrassed by what just happened to properly leap out of his lap for a full retreat into the land of This Never Happened. ]

he'll be happy to plop onto anyone's lap, too, but likely more because it's comfy or because he wants to show something interesting (i.e. a frog or a googled image of some disease or other) instead of anything flirtatious. he is incapable of seduction. ]

Leighton was new in Boston, having moved down recently from Maine in hope of getting away from his family and their coven. They weren't bad nor evil, but their level of shark-like ambition never set will with Leighton. So now here he was, starting over in a new town, taking over the running of a magic shop for his estranged aunt who wanted to do a little globe-trotting with her new beau.

The best way to learn about a city was by walking and public transit, or so she said. So here he was, on his way to work for day one, waiting at the bus stop. His hair was pulled back in a ponytail and while he wasn't pressed overtly feminine as he was want to do at times, the peacoat was big enough to hide the fact he lacked in certain areas. So the pair of rowdy college boys didn't get it or didn't care. Just came up and started making their crude comments and horrible attempts to come onto him. Leigh clutched the hidden pentacle pendant he wore, thankful when the bus came into sight.

When one went to grab his arm Leighton yanked it away quickly and rushed onto the bus with its doors barely open. Leighton was from a quiet, sleepy down in Main, the city was going to take getting used to. But for now? The jocks coming on after him? Leighton's eyes scanned the bus, found a lone man who looked decent enough and his sixth sense labeled as 'safe' and went for it. Praying the Gods wouldn't steer him wrong.

Smiling widely and visibly perking up as if he found who he wanted and moved over to the unsuspecting man. "There you are, got us a seat already?" He asked as he promptly sat in the man's lap and wrapped his arms around his shoulders. Leighton then pressed a kiss to his cheek so he could make his quiet plea. "Play along and get me to my stop and I will buy you the most outrageous cup of coffee you could possibly ever want."

If there was one thing Tony Stark was known for, it was wild parties. And iron suits. And innovative beyond belief technology. And explosions. All right, there were a lot of things Tony Stark was known for, but one of them was definitely the parties.

Truthfully, wild drunken mayhem wasn't Hawke's scene. Small drunken mayhem with a few choice friends and a lot of cracking jokes at each other, sure, but flashing lights and blaring music and general chaos? Not her style. She was here as a favor to a good friend who needed to pursue a few informal business contacts and knew arriving with an attractive lady on his arm would be more likely to get him in. It was a big favor, particularly as it involved dressing the part. Varric was lucky she owed him so much.

The favor didn't extend to joining the crowd's antics, so the first chance she had, Hawke slipped off, looking for somewhere quieter to be. That meant up and out. There were balconies, fortunately.

Not so fortunately, someone pushed her just as she was stepping through the door, and attempting to turn out of the fall meant she landed in an awkward sprawl across on the lap of someone sitting outside. Lovely.

"Sorry about that." She couldn't see who it was in the dark corner, not that she'd had more than a glimpse. The body felt male, and muscular, but given Tony's crowd that didn't say much. Hawke grimaced as she tried to stand up and just slipped back down again. "I swear, whoever invented high heels was a sadist."

[ Going out to clubs and bars outside of work hours is a rare occurrence for Beauty. But she's curious about the band playing tonight, and a few of her fellow waitresses managed to convince her to try doing something that isn't related to burying her nose in a book for the night.

By the time the music has started, the place is packed, a reminder of one big reason she never goes out to things like this. There's a variety of seating around the perimeter of the club, and in the hopes of escaping at least a little of the crowd, Beauty tries working her way into that area. Only to be elbowed and practically trampled by a group of inebriated revelers.

Thank goodness for the sturdy lap she falls into. Even if it is horrifyingly awkward. ]
