Scorpius was the one holding the chips. A pair of geese zeroed in on that and apparently decided he was an easy target, making a beeline for him from behind.

Scorpius has never had very good luck with fowl. The peacocks that wandered the grounds at the Manor had tormented him since he was a child. They were territorial, loud, and mean. But he sort of had a second instinct for knowing when a large bird was rushing him because of them, so that was one good thing to come of their reign of terror. Albus is mid-sentence when Scorpius turns and the geese are right there and he startles.

He steps wrong and his ankle folds under, sending him to the ground with a foul swear. Chips fly everywhere. That's exactly what the geese wanted, so they busy themselves with gobbling up the fried food in between hissing at Albus and Scorpius.]

[Sherry had been one of the lucky ones.

Relatively, anyway. Beyond the tests and trials in labs, in rooms innocently decorated like they weren't cold scientific chambers. She had been a bit of an anomaly — the girl who had been bitten, but didn't die. No, stranger, she had healed. And would always heal, it seemed. So yes, she knows it was a pretty dark time, when they poked and prodded with needles, but... Still.

She was one of the lucky ones.

Many lost loved ones. Many were bitten and turned into those walkers. Those horrible creations, hungry for flesh. Not her, though. Never her. It gives her a strange appreciation for the way her body works, even if it scares her sometimes, or makes her feel... inhuman.

She is separated from Jake and the few stragglers they'd picked up after what was supposed to be a routine drive through the country. She's not really sure who the men were who attacked them, other than they were seriously loaded with goods that people would kill for. Most of the scavenges for supplies are clean and easy while she waits for her guys to show up; Jake's pretty hard to kill, and she holds a lot of hope he'll swoop in with some stupid one-liner. The jerk, making her worry like this.

Today, there's a slew of walkers that will be a challenge and a half to kill. And it would be much easier if she hadn't finally ran completely dry of ammunition. She almost gets herself really ripped apart; when she stumbles into the almost-empty office of a pharmacy, she's got two angry, bloody bite marks on her arm that seep darkly. She's not concerned with them at all. However —

Breathless, she swivels, hearing the faintest scuffle.
