Get your gen texts here

texting meme

You’ve got your TFLN, you’ve got your sexting, now here’s the meme for all those gen texts, phone calls, voicemails, pictures of your cats, and whatever else your little heart can come up with, because who doesn't like a little old fashioned friendly texting. (Or enemy texting, if that's more your bag.)

instructions: What it says on the tin! Leave a comment with your character, include preferences, a start, absolutely nothing or whatever you want. Run around and reply to others. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I wonder if we could get it to 2% but I'm really glad it made some sort of difference.

I'm sorry, good morning!

I'm sure we could, given enough time. I'm not sure the effort would really be worth the additional .2%, but I don't often get to work with other people on my own projects. It sounds like fun to keep working on it on the side, if you don't mind keeping at it with me.

How are you doing today?

I've thought something like that a few times but that .2% could make more of a difference than imagined. It makes those hours of work worth it. I don't know anyone who is into this kind of stuff so I'm really grateful that we get to work together at all.

I'm doing okay, thanks. What about you?
swanseong: ([Marilyn] Yeah...)

[personal profile] swanseong 2017-03-01 01:59 am (UTC)(link)
I don't get to work with other people on these sorts of projects often either. I'm glad we both have someone to do this with, now.

[She has other friends, of course, but as much as she likes them... they don't really understand the nuances of robotics and programming. Not on the same level that Chihiro does, at least.]

I'm doing well, thank you for asking.
softieware: (oh my god)

What do you like to have for breakfast?
swanseong: ([Marilyn] Chatting)

[ This second text kind of confuses her for a moment, but she answers it honestly anyway. ]

A lot of the time I go for softer foods, but I try to make an effort to enjoy a hearty breakfast of bacon and eggs occasionally.

What about you?

softieware: (how bout them spoilers)

[personal profile] softieware 2017-03-02 12:10 am (UTC)(link)
I don't really think about breakfast too much. That's why I wanted to ask as I figure that maybe I should have a full breakfast more often.

I just like whatever's tasty. I'm sorry that I can't think of a more exciting answer.
swanseong: ([Marilyn] It's okay.)

[personal profile] swanseong 2017-03-02 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
That's all right. There's nothing wrong with enjoying foods because they taste good.

Technically I should have started eating through a feeding tube as my condition declined, but that's something I've never quite been willing to give up.
softieware: (oh my god)

[personal profile] softieware 2017-03-02 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
It doesn't sound like it'd be as satisfying. You're a pretty strong person no matter what. That's really cool.
swanseong: ([Marilyn] Don't speak to me.)

[personal profile] swanseong 2017-03-02 12:21 pm (UTC)(link)
No, it wouldn't be.

Thank you, but I can't claim that it's all strength. I've been very fortunate to be able to afford treatment, so that I could put such a thing off for this long.
softieware: (some part of you that you can't stand)

[personal profile] softieware 2017-03-03 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Are you afraid?
swanseong: ([Marilyn] What did I just stay)

[personal profile] swanseong 2017-03-03 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
I've had a long time to come to terms with it.

Yes. Not as much as I used to be, but yes.

And you admit to it.

I'm sorry for asking something like that. You're just so open so I was wondering.
swanseong: ([Marilyn] Chatting)

Like I said, I've had a lot of time to think about it. I feel like everyone knows that it's a scary situation, there isn't any point in pretending that it isn't one.

It's okay. It's not unusual to have questions, and we're friends so I don't mind answering them.
softieware: (rip laptop battery)

[personal profile] softieware 2017-03-03 07:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess it's a little more productive to try to come to terms with it than just think about how scary it is. But it also can't be easy because the heart and brain don't always connect on stuff.
swanseong: ([Marilyn] It's okay.)

[personal profile] swanseong 2017-03-03 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
One thing I've noticed is that it seems to be a little easier to accept when you're on my end of things.

What you expect your life to be, and how I can expect mine to be, are very different. I've had a lot of time to grow familiar with the concept - it's okay for you to be upset about it, even if I'm not at the moment.

[ Granted, comforting others about her own condition is far from her favorite thing to do.

But Chihiro is a sweet kid, and she considers him a friend. It wouldn't be fair to expect him to be unaffected by such things.
