Ever been in a life-and-death situation? No? Maybe you will be now. Something is happening, something horrible, and you're about to die. Maybe someone you love is about to die. Or someone you hate. Maybe you're the danger itself. Either way, you (or your prey) get out by the skin of your (their) teeth. How close was it really? Is someone in deep shit? Alternatively, this can be used for something else: regular life situations. Miss someone at the dance you want to see, can't catch that criminal you need to put away, whatever. The world is your oyster!

((Gah sorry for the delay! I'll take Coulson from where he's relegated to agent again and flying all over the world in the open. So maybe they run into each other in a city where an inhuman is unintentionally causing a ruckus or have gone crazy a la Katya in Bahrain?))

WOW Mister Togusa, that was really close!!!!

I didn't think they'd have ROCKET LAUNCHERS!

One wrong piece of intel, that's all it had taken, and Togusa had been cut off from the rest of the team. He had reported that he needed backup over the subvocal comms, but of everyone to come pull him out of the fire? He hadn't been expecting the Tachikoma.

Since his cover is half-destroyed from the last explosion, Togusa isn't quite going to stand up out of the rubble just yet. He looks up at the Tachikoma in surprise. "Th- Thanks. Did Battoh send you over?" As much as Togusa is always the one to insist that they're interchangable, he's started to recognize Battoh's personal unit.

Yes! An even larger enemy force has appeared in Osaka, so I was dispatched to come to the rescue!!!

[ Tachikoma's rear compartment opens up. ]

Quick, get inside and we'll get out of here!

Letting the Tachikoma do the driving for a second while Togusa remembers which direction is up sounds like an excellent plan. He holsters his pistol. As much as he depends on the gun, it might has well have been a pop-gun out there. "I'm not gonna mess up Battoh's settings, am I?" It's a muttered somewhat joke, before he climbs inside.

Togusa's heart rate is still sky-high, he can't calm himself back down as quickly as the Major or Battoh. He closes his eyes for a second, tries to breathe. "What's happening with the others? Are they all right?"

"Just a sec!" Tachikoma puts all her processing power into physics while she fires her sticky web launchers at a nearby building and then jumps! The two ton tank flies through the air, landing on the side of a building where her treads spread out into high traction claws. Her Thermoptic armor activates, turning invisible to the naked eye.

Being sideways might mess with Togusa's ability to figure out 'up.'

She starts walking along the side to get them out of hte line of fire, as there is still fire raining down on their location.

"I hope so!! But Battoh is really tough, he'll probably be fine! And the Major is super scary!"

The sudden velocity jerking sideways makes Togusa clench his eyes very tightly closed. You cant lose your equilibrium again if you never regained it in the first place? Once the Tachikoma settles against the building, he dares to breathe out very slowly. He turns to try to look down at the people who slowly stop shooting as their target vanishes. Theoretically, with the element of surprise, if they waited a few minutes? He and the Tachikoma could probably mop this up, if Togusa were in top form. But which one would be Battoh be more angry about getting hurt: him or the Tachikoma?

"We'll go to join them anyway. Back them up, then we can swing back through here when we've got the whole team." Togusa's eyes open again. "Calculate us a way over there, swing around so we can get them between us and Battoh and the Major. Gonna have to be careful with the rocket shots, though. Keep an eye on what's behind your targets."

Togusa doesn't expect a message back, but he pings the Major that he's safe and on the way.

"Aye aye, cap'n!!" Tachikoma scales the building one step at a time, swapping back to wheels as she cruises along the rooftops back towards the larger force. She effortless leaps over the alleyways, building hopping over half a dozen buildings.

"Uh oh..." she mumbles. The screens on the inside of her pod hone in on an attack helicopter buzzing overhead. A machine gun opens up on their exact location, answering the question of whether or not they're spotted. Tachikoma takes evasive action.

No more time for your ears to be ringing. Focus, Togusa. "We've got this!" Togusa activates the Tachikoma's gatling guns, and tries to target the helicopter. It takes an extra second for the guns to spin up, but they're quickly sending a stream of bullets back at the helicopter. "Try to get the rotors! At least chase them off!"

Trying to drive the Tachikoma sideways while aiming is not the easiest, but the Tachikoma's physics engine can handle it. "Tell the Major we're gonna be a little held up."

There is a flare from the inside of the helicopter, and Togusa's eyes go wide. "Oh no." That's another explosive something heading their way. "Down!"

Tachikoma takes Togusa's command a little more literally than perhaps expected, diving in between two buildings and smashing through a window and its surrounding walls, sliding into the center of someone's apartment. The rocket hits the roof they had just been on in a numbing explosion, scattering debris in all directions.

There are a couple of people inside the room with them, shocked and confused and battered by dust and broken glass.

"Sorry about that! I'll let myself out!" Tachikoma strides towards the apartment door, opens it up, and clumsily squeezes through the narrow doorframe, cracking the frame on either side as she stumbles into the hallway. "Just send the bill to Section 9!" And then she politely closes the door behind her.

The Tachikoma's armor muffles the sounds and force of the impact, as it just tears through a wall like it was paper, and the rocket does the same over their heads. There's a special anger that flares in Togusa when he spots that there are still civilians in the area, and these idiots are firing off explosives like they're nothing. He flips on the external speakers. "Keep away from the windows, get down to the bottom of the building if you can!"

"We can't just leave. They're going to keep destroying this block looking for us, and they don't give a damn who they're putting in harm's way. All right. We take the fight back to them."

To be fair, they're going to keep doing some of their own destroying if he keeps trying to drive a Tachikoma through a narrow hallway. "Get me to the fire escape and back outside. Then let's get some altitude and cloak. They think they can scare us off. We'll show them."
