Alec knew that this was not the best decision that he could have made. He still wasn't sure why he hadn't just ignored that text, why he'd let it percolate in his mind until he couldn't resist the temptation. Now, he found himself in a shitty area to meet a vampire.

His mother would be so proud.

Once he arrived at the appointed location, he starts to contemplate leaving even if that was a serious level of chickening out.

He had spotted Alec as he arrived. For a brief moment he mused over how he had managed to convince the grumpy Shadowhunter to hook-up. He was indeed a handsome man. But also deadly. He then proceeded down the stairs and towards Alec. He did consider running and surprise him, but that just might end with a Seraph blade into his gut. Which would kill the mood pretty fast. So instead he settled for a more human approach.

"Surprised you turned up," he commented as he walked up to Alec.

It was true that the human approach was probably the safest for the both of them. He studied the vampire and he knew that he should know better and there was still time to leave. But something had been stirred inside of him that was difficult to ignore. It had brought him here and it had kept him here.

"I'm surprised too," he admitted, though perhaps he shouldn't have.

"I won't bite if you're concerned about that," Raphael responded. He then nodded in the direction of the motel and picked up a key. He dangled it from his finger, watching Alec's reaction. He was feeling hesitation from Alec at what they were about to do.

"So should we head inside instead of standing here ad freezing?" he asked.

Alec was sure that he would have killed Raphael before he would bite but he found himself not all that particularly worried about it even though he should be. He was not accustomed to doing anything like this, his reticence is probably obvious but despite it he was still there.

"Inside," he said quickly, and without waiting he starts walking in the proper direction.

"How demanding of you," he teased Alec before following him like a shadow. He was curious if Alec would dare go up to the counter and order a room. Or if he would ask for the keys that Raphael already had gotten his hands on.

Alec rolled his eyes and they got inside before he figures out he doesn't know what to do then. He glanced back at Raphael appraisingly. "Did you already..." he inclined his head toward the desk because if he could avoid having to talk to anyone else during this event he would.

He nonchalantly picks up a pair of keys and dangles them in front of Alec with a smirk on his face. "Ah yes, yes I did," he teased and curled his hand around said keys. "I was checking to see if you'd have the guts," he then added before crocking his neck in direction to a nearby set of stairs. "Shall we then?"

Alec was relieved that he found himself not quite able to even be annoyed at the other for teasing him as he looks at the keys. He didn't have to go up to the desk and deal with that awkward conversation. So, he doesn't rise to the bait of replying to the guts comment and merely nods and heads towards the stairs after Raphael, since the other would know exactly where they're going since he has the keys.
