It's a nice day, you're in your swimsuit or some other beach-appropriate wear, and the sun, sand and surf are all waiting for you. You could be here because you wanted to get away from everything, or your friends decided to grab you for a road trip to the beach. Go swimming, take up surfing, build a sandcastle, chow down at the myriad snack bars, crash a party, maybe even watch the sunset with your significant other from the comfort of your own swanky seaside villa. The possibilities are endless.

What are you waiting for? Get out there and have fun! Oh, and watch out for sharks.

[Lance's age makes it easier for him to bounce back. He's so small and young that it's easy to just forget to be sad, and he thinks of everything as sharing it from the heart. But he's glad that for this moment he can share it with his dad, staying blissfully distracted by the drifting waves. It's been a pretty good day, and he's determined to keep it that way.

The boy squats, reaching his hands into the sand, and he's another mess of giggles when a wave washes forward and pushes the sand over his fingers. He doesn't realize that he's squatted s low that the water soaks into the seat of his shorts until it recedes, and he jumps up, turning quickly to run back--and he falls into the sand almost immediately. Thankfully, he's springy and the sand is soft. He pushes himself up and runs over to base camp, grinning.]

Daddy, daddy! The sand is real squishy. We can build a sand castle later, right?

[The smile settles on his face the way it so often does these days when he watches his son. Lance is endless enthusiasm, energy and laughter and he hopes that he never loses that. That neither one of them ever has to lose that.

It's also lucky Lance inherited his mother's skin and not his father's. Because Shiro is sure, no matter how many time he coats his son in sunscreen its going to all wear off by the end of their day. He watches his son tumble, bounce right back up and those long skinny tiny legs all but windmill him over to the towels and umbrella, causing Shiro's smile to widen into a grin as his son's right back with his next request. He reaches out, slips some more sunscreen down his son's nose even though he already coated him in the hotel room and nods.]

Sure! We'll build it at the tide line so the sea can play with it too once we're done. What do you want to do first though? We've got all day so make sure you pace yourself. ['all day' meaning 'all day until nap time because his son is going to crash hard at some point' but Shiro's on vacation, they're both on vacation, and they get to set their own schedule.]
