You're all I know

You have no idea who you are.

One day, you just woke up from the darkness, confused and alone. You barely remember your own name, much less why you're here...or where here is, even. Your own body is strange to you, and if you have some kind of power or ability, that must be frightening. Perhaps you're angry at everything so new and different, lost in this strange world you don't understand or know your own place in. Maybe you feel the need to hide away, lest you be crushed by everyone out there who is sure to hurt you.

You are so, so alone.

Only you're not. There is one person, one person who's found you and taken you in. They've shown you kindness, looking after you while you can barely look out for yourself. Out of the goodness of their heart, they've shown you things, taught you things. Most importantly, they're giving you a new sense of identity. And for that, you've begun to appreciate them. More than words can say, actually. You care for them so deeply that your heart hurts around them. Is that normal? What is this feeling? You can't imagine life without them, and leaving them- That's something you could never consider. Is this lov...

The word's on the tip of your tongue, but you can't figure it out, exactly. What you can figure out is that you want to give everything you can to the person who's done so much for them. You want to stay by their side and make them happy. You want to protect them at all costs.

So no one would blame you for getting confused when you see them with someone else or getting angry when you believe they're in danger. And certainly it's only natural for you to get frustrated when you want to tell them what you think of them, what they mean to you, and you can't figure out what to do. Perhaps following instincts will do?

One thing you know is that this bond and these emotions will never go away, not even when you learn who you are.

- This meme is for examining what happens when someone with no memories, potentially someone with powers or skills that could be dangerous at the very least, develops deep feelings for the person who's taken them in or is helping them realize their past. It can be played as awkward, adventurous, tragic, cracky, fluffy, truly romantic, or anything in between. You can play at the beginning, the part where emotions have strongly developed, or even when the amnesiac has regained their memories and must now deal with new feelings.
- Reply with your character and preferences. Mention if you'd like to play the amnesiac, the caretaker/help, or both.
- The role of caretaker does not have to always be beneficial. Maybe they caused this condition in the first place so the other character would be dependent, loving, and loyal towards them.
- Reply to others and play.

It's not that often that someone comes into her city. Her territory and smells like wolf. Then again, not too many supernatural beings came to New Orleans anymore. Much less as far out as the bayou. Where she'd been holing up for a while. So why in the world was she catching the scent of a new wolf? Why would someone be that damn stupid? To stumble through vampires to get to wolf country. Well, okay, it wasn't actively called that but it might as well of been. Had been at one point.

So she does the next best thing and heads off after the scent. After all, he shouldn't of been there.

[ There was a high-pitched squawk from one of his creatures, but Newt stayed tucked away from the barrage of both items and magic. This was going to be quite the day. Night, even. Oh, this was hardly a good thing. Cautiously, during what felt like a lull, he hazarded a peek up over the rocky outcropping he was currently using for cover. ]

It’s late 2014 and Ray Palmer has no idea that his future involves time travel. In fact, in 2014, his A.T.O.M. suit is no more than a hologram and his biggest obstacle to building it is the lack of raw materials. Dwarf star alloy, one of the rarest metals on Earth, is buried in beneath a mine and the owner isn’t selling. The man is however, open to dinner that Friday and he’s bringing his wife. At this point, Ray is still planning to ask Felicity.

Until something absolutely bizarre happens.

That night, he’s still at work, having completely lost track of time, when a red alert vibrates from his Palmer Tech smartwatch. SECURITY BREACH. SECURITY BREACH.

Maybe the smart thing to do, ironic given that he invents smart things, would have been to bring a few security guards from work, or to call 9-1-1. But when he goes to check the remote feed for the cameras in his apartment, all he sees is a blonde woman, unconscious on his living room floor. A quick zoom in confirms that it’s not Felicity, and he finds himself letting out a sigh of relief and smiling before wait- no- no one should be unconscious in his apartment. Right. Gotta go.

The night however, only gets weirder. Or is it cooler, depending on which side of the timeline you’re looking out from?

Either way, when he gets home, she’s still there, still motionless, but before Ray can reach her, a small, black device that he hadn’t noticed before senses motion and immediately begins to play. It’s a hologram. Uh. It’s a hologram of him, while wearing his A.T.O.M. suit.

Oh dear god what is happening.

“Hey Ray!” Wow he’s never talked to himself before. But that seems like how he’d greet himself.

“I know this is weird-” Does he always grin in that way when he’s trying to play something off as not a big deal? “-but hear me out. I’m you, from the future, don’t ask any questions. Not that you could really, ask questions to a hologram.” Hologram him chuckles. “Anyways, this is Sara. Bad things are happening and she needs a place to lay low for awhile as she recovers. No hiding spot like the past, right?” Future him looks so proud of himself. “She’s really important to me, well, to you, but you in the future, so just consider it doing yourself a favor? Take care of her for awhile-” Something in the distance seems to catch future him’s eye, and the last thing Ray hears him say is: “Ohhhhhh no. GOTTA GO BYE!”

Not long after that, the little black box fries itself. Great.

“Well…” he says, mostly to himself, eyes open wide as he tries to process what just happened. “I guess this means I built the suit.“ His own laugh is a little more nervous as Ray kneels down in front of her. He doesn’t recognize Sara Lance because he hasn’t met her yet. In fact, he’s barely just met Oliver and they’re not exactly on good terms.

But it looks like she might be out for awhile, so Ray picks her up and lays her down on the couch. “Nice to meet you Sara, though, considering, I’m guessing we’ve met before under better circumstances. Not that future me was considerate enough to say anything about that.” He reaches over for a blanket and lays it over her. “I suppose I’ll find out more when you wake up.”

When he’s convinced that she’s at least comfortable, Ray moves to one of the adjoining rooms — his home workshop — and pulls up the suit again. What he was wearing in the hologram had looked different somehow. Maybe there was some kind of upgrade he could start working on early.
