[It was hard to say what had exactly happened, for whatever reason, whatever strange spur of the moment desperation had struck that fools head, the moment Komaeda had walked in to see what was going on he had heard something about them dating. What had he walked into? Of course that made absolutely no sense, and he was about the clarify the problem but that was when he was shot a look, a look he could only assume was that of "don't say anything".

Well, it wasn't like he could just... break whatever annoying situation had just been created, even if it would probably be frustrating. Even when it was Souda Komaeda would still try his best.]

[He hadn't been, but, this seemed like the right thing to say to try and join the situation. And with a dramatic and maybe a bit too forced sigh he continued.]

[ If Rei were in any position to be talking to the press, he'd tell them that there's a reasonable explanation for all this, of course. There always is. Rei was simply letting Wataru hug him in the middle of a cafe and then calling him cute, there's nothing strange about that.

(Okay, maybe there isn't a reasonable explanation for all this? Then again, they're the Three Oddballs, not the Three Normal Guys. Anyway, it was the heat of the moment.)

Rei's used to making tabloids during especially slow celeb news weeks, and to be honest, he's barely ruffled about pictures of them (with friends!) being in the paper, Doggie's yapping and Kaoru's waggling eyebrows aside. Dr. Sagami said something about letting the whole thing go without comment, but Dr. Sagami also had to hold a press conference admitting to wearing a dress and singing on the school rooftop, so. Rei thinks he's a step above that, at least.

Even elders have to have their fun every now and then, which means Rei is awake early in the afternoon, when the sun has begun to fade and, therefore, mostly stopped sapping all of his already dwindling will to live. He wanders up and away from the Light Music Club's room in idle search of a voice so loud Rei could probably hear it without even trying, dodging too much trouble besides a sixteen minute distraction named Leo Tsukinaga.

Whether Wataru is terrorizing his juniors in the theater club's room, terrorizing Hasumi in the student council room, or generally terrorizing the student body elsewhere (by virtue of doing nothing at all, or by virtue of normal terror-instilling methods, such as re-enacting The Birds), Rei is going to find him. His smile is lazy as he lopes up behind his prey target and gently croons Wataru's first name: ] Wa - ta - ru.

but, well, st. petersburg is host to not only viktor's home and favourite skating rink -- it's also possessed of several skating clubs. these are supposedly amateur hangouts, all fumble-footed lutz jumps and new-dawning excitement at skating backwards, but some casually frequented by up-and-coming professionals, who arrange equally casual competitions -- for native russians, and naturalised ones. and maybe even that wouldn't have been a problem, if they only hadn't brought in couples skating.

( surprising nobody, viktor is a melting romantic: courtship doesn't count unless you show it off at home, too. )

it'll be fine, it'll be all right, it'll all be perfectly fantastic -- viktor had called, his mouth a sweetly cheery curve, red amid the pale rink walls. yakov knows someone who'll be able to speak on your behalf! just be yourself and you'll charm anyone. think of kharisma, and project it!

only viktor isn't here, and he's standing outside the zenit arena's pointed black gates with a squashy scarfed smile of a man, only the man isn't a man, he's a country, and -- and honestly, yuri thinks that he might sort of mean that last bit, he isn't convinced that russia's stopped smiling even in flickers for the last hour. ]

[So the gay older white man with his younger Asian lover is apparently a common enough archetype that someone decided it would be the perfect (or just most amusing) cover for two of the best tacticians Overwatch could produce at such short notice. Hanzo isn't sure how they came about invitations to an event as exclusive as this, but he assumes it has something to do with Zarya and her ties to the powerful Volskaya family.

The best part of omnic-hating organizations is they tended to employ human beings exclusively, and human beings tended to fuck up. They didn't have facial recognition wired into their circuitry and a new haircut or grown out beard could make even the infamous unrecognizable. No one looked twice at them when the pair arrived at the party.

Really all they had to do was pretend to tolerate each other pretty well for the next hour or so while they could map the layout of the area. Hanzo can speak only for himself, but he isn't a fan of crowds and socializing was probably close to the bottom of skills he considered himself impeccable at. Yet he can't shake the feeling that he's going to be the one carrying tonight.

It also doesn't help that he has the tendency to want to strangle Jack every time he opens his mouth to speak, but who knows, maybe he's capable of being at least a little less of a condescending old prick when it's part of a mission. They'd gone over the details only a couple of times, but if all else fails they just have to stick as close to the truth as they could manage--which probably isn't very far.]
