Haunted House Meme

Everyone knows to stay away from the large empty house on the hill. It’s haunted. But maybe you’re seeking a thrill, or maybe you’re searching for something lost or locked away. Maybe you are the ghost haunting the old building. Maybe your car has stalled, and the house on the hill is the only building for miles. But is it empty, or is there something waiting?

Leave a comment with your character's name, fandom, any preferences you have, and what brought your character to this haunted location.
Feel free to play any level of leisurely exploration of creepy buildings or intense survival horror!

The Haunting
A. Ghosts. Creepy, tragic, and possibly violent, they’ve got unfinished business in this world and you’re the unsuspecting victims who have just become the targets for their wrath.
B. Creatures. Unearthly monsters summoned from a hell-dimension or mutations created by a mad scientist, this is their house now, and they are fascinated and hungry.
C. The People in the Walls. Someone—or several someones—have been living in this house. They’re no longer human anymore, and their sanity has been frayed to the very edge. They’ve been surviving on mice and bats until now. But now you're here, and don't you look delicious?
D. The House Itself. Maybe it was built evil, or maybe it became evil after the horrible deeds that were committed in it. The very walls of the house are soaked with blood, and the house is angry, and hungry. It has you now, and it doesn’t plan to let you out.
E. The Cabin in the Woods Experiment. None of this is natural phenomena. You don’t know it yet, but you’re part of a larger experiment. You’re the rats in the maze, and the scientists are observing—and toying with—your every move.
F. Choose your own horror movie plot!

It was a beautiful building, and Ashley could not resist. Not when it came to the rumors and stories, increasingly macabre, of the abandoned hospital on the hill.

He suggested it to his friends, as they were bored and drinking. The cream of Louisiana society, young and beautiful, and all of them burning bright enough that they were sure to burn out fast.

Ashley accepted a gulp from the bottle that they were sharing. Enough to make them all a little more brave, but Ashley didn't drink so much that it would make him foolish. He wanted to take in every detail of the place, and didn't want to risk missing sight of a ghost.

As they crossed over the threshold of the place, dusty with neglect and marked throughout the foyer with spray paint tags from disrespectful trespassers, Ashley regretted that he'd brought his friends. Twig and Molochai were noisy, Zillah was demanding, and all three of them were distracting Ashley from the lovely eeriness of the place. If he'd come alone, he could have the place to himself and linger as he liked.

When they headed down a hallway to explore, Ashley turned the other way, slipping from their company and setting off on his own.

[Feel free to use/kill the NPCs as suits our narrative. Alternately, all three NPCs are vampires in their canon, and Ashley is not--he may not yet have discovered the nature of his friends. Interested in either survival horror or atmospheric plot.]

[Keith was getting a lot of static in his comm. They'd found an abandoned Galra quintessence mine, and were in the process of attempting to get information out of the system to hopefully find clues on Shiro and Pidge's family. There had been a work camp here, and one of her leads had pointed them in this direction. With the distress calls having slowed down a bit, they'd decided to take advantage of the lull to continue with their other ongoing missions.

Keith wasn't exactly sure if there was any lingering quintessence around, but there was definitely a weird energy hanging in the air. Their comms had been glitching since they'd landed, and he wasn't sure, but he thought he had heard Lance yell something. They were currently at different ends of the warehouse section, and he couldn't see the Blue Paladin from his current location.]

[He frowned, extending his bayard's blade and activating the shield in his armor's gauntlet. He started running back to where he and Lance had decided to split up, hoping Pidge and Hunk were at least having better luck at the moment. The Green and Yellow Paladins were out of communications range, so Keith and Lance were on their own until they all got back to the rendezvous point. Not being able to reach them really made Keith nervous. He'd been a little overprotective of everyone since losing Shiro, having taken this whole leader thing really seriously in an effort to compensate for his lack of confidence.]
