PROMPTS

1. Feeling Strange: You've known this person your entire life, yet lately you've been feeling...different about them. These feelings aren't exactly familial, either.
2. Not as Normal Families: Whatever the specifics of the case may be, your childhood was not the norm, and thus the two of you have grown close that way.
3. Raised Apart: Scientists believe that when siblings are raised together under normal circumstances, they will not find each other sexually attractive; however, if they are reared apart, they may be highly attracted to each other when they meet as adults.
4. Only Kin by Name: Psuedo-incest between step siblings or adopted siblings is not quite as taboo, but you could still be looked down upon for harboring those desires for someone who is a member of your family by one way or another.
5. Defender: One of you is older and has always looked after the other, meaning that something has grown between you that is thicker than any blood.

It is so hard to look cool when you’re super excited. There are people who probably do a better job of it than she does but really that bar is set kind of low: there is absolutely no mystery to Salome.

Which is why she is chewing off all of her lip gloss, idly scrolling through her Instagram feed impatiently waiting to get off the bus (THE bus) and occasionally trying not to sigh *too* loudly with annoyance. When the line finally starts moving, the blonde dips her head to glance out of the passing windows to try and find sight of her brother. Kieran leaving for college is possibly one of the most devastating things to ever happen to her. Even with every single form of electronic communication it just wasn’t the same as him being right there next to him.

A few stairs and she exits into the fresh air with a deep breath and a hoist of her bag on to her shoulder, head immediately on a swivel to try and spot her brother. Which means carefully moving through the crowd that has gathered around the bag hold.

[OOC: Looks great! For the most part, I kind of just handwave a lot of his history, depending on how things need to work. Let me know if anything I come up with needs tweaking.]

Salome saved his life. Of that much, Kieran's sure, because after getting left behind by their loser, pill-popping father in Atlanta and after their mom and stepdad died in a car accident (which he did not have anything to do with, no matter what people in school whispered), he knows he would have gone completely psycho. Instead, he maybe went just a little bit crazy. But that crazy turned into the happiest few years of his life, up until he had to move away to college, leaving his sister with their aunt.

And yeah, maybe it's only been a couple of months, but when Kieran spots the slim, blonde figure of his little sister stepping off the bus, it's all he can do to keep from shoving people out of the way to get to her. Instead, he cuts through the crowd and picks up her bag before she does-- it's impossible to mistake Salome's luggage for anyone else's-- and turns to her with a grin.

"Hey, sis."

There is a lot of their past that Salome would like to forget, in fact, after he went off to school she started committing a not insignificant portion of time working to forget everything that has happened to them. Kieran's departure to college, as reasonable and logical as it is, was just another form of abandonment - one that she has not been taking well.

But that hardly matters now. Not when she is finally here and about to see him again. There is a level to her excitement that isn't generally what a sister feels after a prolonged separation from their sibling - it's more like butterflies.

Which are interrupted when some asshole grabs her bag. "Hey that's -" and there he is: grinning and just as handsome as ever. A squeal of happiness and she flings herself into his arms with a MASSIVE hug. "Kieran!"

Kieran catches his sister and spins her around, earning a few angry mumbles from people around them, but nobody gives them any shit, which probably means they look like way too cute a young couple to bother about the PDA. He lets Salome slide against him back down to the ground and grins. "Mmmm, I've missed you-- you been okay?"

He reaches down and takes Salome's hand, the warmth of her touch familiar and exciting in equal measure, both of them reminding Kieran of just how hard it had been to leave his sister behind.

Leaning his head in the direction of the bus station's parking lot, he leads her away. "Come on, the car's right over here." His eyes move over the blonde teen, perhaps a little more slowly and appraisingly than appropriate. "You haven't gotten any bigger, have you? I couldn't stand it if you did, it hasn't been long enough."

The spin has her squealing and clinging on to his broad, strong form. There isn't as much lift as there was when she was really little, but, to be fair she isn't exactly short and tiny any more. It doesn't matter, what matters is that they are back together: her heart feels full, easy, not caught up in the tension of separation. "Yeah, yeah," she laughs as he sets her down a bit breathless. "Missing you, but, you know, other than that fine. Aunt Susan sends her love, like always."

She means well.

Head on his shoulder briefly, she starts walking with him through bus drop off toward the parking lot. "I don't think so," looking down at herself she considers his question. "I haven't checked recently. How are you? I mean, how are you liking school and everything?"

Kieran gives her a wry smile at the mention of their Aunt Susan. Sure she sent her love-- Salome's trip got the girl out of the house, and he was sure Susan was happy to get the vacation. Raising kids had never been what their aunt wanted to do with her life.

He smiles at her over the top of the car as he tosses her bag into the trunk. No, his sister is still the lithe beauty he remembers so fondly and so well. "School's okay. It's school, after all. But everything else is pretty cool. Except, you know, you're not here."

Kieran opens the door and slides into the driver's seat, waiting for Salome to get in the other side.

[this was bad. at this rate, the Witch was going to get away. most of their team was down, and now it was just Choromatsu and Todomatsu left standing. Choromatsu's already taken a bunch of hits, and he looks ragged and disheveled as he stares down the misshapen form dancing in front of him.

he huffs, clenching his two swords of light tightly. he's... waiting, waiting for the Witch to make the first move, waiting for Todomatsu to get into position so that they can toast this beast. they have to... otherwise, this whole fight would have been for nothing, and their fallen brothers would be...

augh! don't think about it like that, Choromatsu! you have to stay focused!]

[ Todomatsu was in no better shape himself. He had taken some pretty severe beatings from the witch, and while the others had done his best to encourage him that fighting witches wasn't that scary, he still felt his knees shake seeing the damage.

Getting to his feet, he notices his legs are shaking. At first he thinks maybe it's just nerves, but then it hits him that one of his legs is bruising pretty badly, and that standing up hurts. But there's Choromatsu-niisan, standing ahead of him. Waiting for Totty's call to start again. They have to fight. Even if it doesn't work out for them.

Steadying himself using his staff, he walks over to where Choromatsu is standing. ]

What's the plan, Niisan?

[ That is, if he isn't too shaken by whats happened, then he's likely to have a plan. ]

Tell me what I need to do.

[it pains Choromatsu to see Todomatsu trembling like that. he just wants this battle to be over so that they can go home and heal up. he snorts softly, annoyed at the Witch for hurting his brothers, his precious family. it's time to make her pay]

...We... have to confuse her. She's been reading our moves, and that's what's getting us into trouble. So. I'm gonna distract her, then you circle around behind her and hit her with everything you've got.

Alright, I'll wait for your signal, then.

[ With a nod, he finally manages to get his balance and swings his staff back and forth once. This has got to work. Choromatsu's plans never fail... Or they haven't yet. ]

Once she's distracted, I'll give the final blow.

... I believe in you, Niisan. Just. Don't get hurt, okay?

[fukei]

[Todomatsu believes in him... heh. it's not everyday Choromatsu hears that. it's actually quite encouraging. his expression eases into a tense smirk, and he nods]

I won't let her touch me.

[and then he's off, leaping into the air as high as he can. he attacks the Witch head on... well, he swings at her, then keeps her following after him.

they can do this... they have to do this! he dodges one of the Witch's long arms, runs up along the sides of the wall of the dungeon. he can see Todomatsu already getting into place, and he knows his little brother won't let him down]

[ There's a pause, and for a moment Todomatsu completely doubts himself. What if he misses? What if he messes up completely? What if Choromatsu gets hurt.

Eventually he shakes himself out of it, waiting for the witch to turn around juuust slightly and-

wham!

Totty brings his staff all the way around him, casting a spell that sends a very large pink ray of light at the witch, connecting directly with her head and sending her spiraling forward. ]

Niisan- watch out!

[fukei]

[a direct hit! Choromatsu would cheer if he wasn't busy jumping out of the way. the Witch spins through the air and eventually plummets to the ground. Choromatsu is on her in a second, plunging his swords into her various shapes viciously.

this stab is for Osomatsu and Karamatsu, and the other one is for Ichimatsu and Jyushimatsu. he doesn't give her any chance to regain control over this fight. it's been a long, grueling battle, and now it was finally over]

[ After a few more stabs from Choro, the witch eventually disappears, leaving only a greif seed and the damage to their surroundings. Totty immediately falls to the ground, but does his best to limp over to Choromatsu as best he can. ]

Hey!! We did it! We really did it, haha..

[ Excited as he is, this battle has taken all of Todomatsu's energy. At a time like this, he would've made some snarky remark about how he did most of the work here. But he does nothing but collapse by his brother's side. ]

You know, you actually looked kinda cool out there... What the heck... Who said you could be cool.
