[ The hour is so late that it's early, a campus buzzed (and worse) on Thirsty Thursday gone quiet in preparation for (hangover) Friday morning, and in the midst of the calm, two are still awake, having stolen away to the heights of the Engineering building where the roof is level and accommodating for...! Blankets. Many of them. Enough so to make the brick beneath (almost) comfortable when laying flat upon it.

And lay they do, Sion with the long fall of his hair pillowing his head, and Shinn beside him, their eyes focused on the heavens above. It is cold, for winter hasn't yet thoroughly bled over to spring (and the first week of midterms), but somehow yet--...

The chill makes the stars above seem all the brighter.

(Or could that also be the work of many cans of beer, now emptied, and also very much beside them?) ]

Doesn't it feel as though we've laid here, in this spot before?

[ Something about is nostalgic, evocative of both a wistful melancholy and gentle happiness which Sion cannot quite place, though the sentiment swells with certainty in his chest.

Shinn, who hasn't given up on him despite his wont to bury himself in his studies (and in his pursuit to free himself of his father's name), has always been his very best friend, so--...

(So why does he suddenly fear that, should he fall asleep, he will wake to find that Shinn is no longer by his side?)

But that's silly, isn't it? This is the very first time I've done anything remotely delinquent in my undergraduate career.
