what if tattoos just randomly appeared on our skin at key points in our lives and we had to figure out what they meant for ourselves? (x)

i. the blank slate: you don't have any tattoos. are you relieved? upset you don't have anything to tell? do you imagine sometimes what they'd look like if you had them?

ii. the moment: a tattoo has just appeared. is it your first? one of many? what's happening in your life to make it show up?

iii. the reveal: you finally understand what that tattoo means. is it a good thing? a bad thing? or something bittersweet?

iv. the tale: you and someone else are sharing stories about your tattoos. do you tell the truth? lie? only listen and never speak?

v. soulmates: your tattoo matches your soulmate's in, some way. does it appear when you first meet? are you figuring it out much later? is it easy to tell who your matched pair is?

vi. the wildcard: there are many as many options as you can have tattoos. here's a place to make your own story.

Yuuri thought after all the time he'd known Phichit that he knew nearly everything about him. The day he saw Phichit pull off his shirt as he got ready for bed in their shared room proved him wrong. There on the small of his back was a curling scroll of black ink. Yuuri couldn't make it out from far away, but he knew immediately that it was a tattoo. One he'd never seen. It wasn't as though Yuuri made it a point to watch his room mate and rink mate change, but they were together often enough that they each knew what the other looked like naked. And this tattoo hadn't been there a month ago.

Already a bit flushed, Yuuri forced himself to speak up. "Phichit... Is that a tattoo?"
