Good NIGHT, Sleep TIGHT ( a cozy smut meme ) Sleep. That's it, that's the meme. You're getting snug as a bug in a rug, ready for beg. Oh, but there is a hitch. Somebody's in your bed - and, to be fair, they are invited. Probably. Whether you always sleep together (no, not that way) or this is a one off, two tucked in can pose completely different logistics than a solo snoozer. Which of you hogs the covers, because there's always a cover hog? You know it's true. But barring all that, tonight, you are sleeping together (yes, that way). It could be what you do every night; in contrast, they could just be here, so why not (?). Maybe you both ended up together and need to have sex to stay warm or survive or something equally contrived. One of you could be wearing a sexy negligee, or maybe you guys have done it in a while and need to relight the spark or make up for arguments. You could even have some kinky roleplay in mind! Doesn't matter, having sex. And then, you'll get to cuddle up together! Right? Riiiiiiight? [It's like most nights they're flying through the skies on the Strahl. Everyone eventually retires into the back, the small and few cots lining the walls. Vaan and Penelo share one, curled into one another, snuggled under a thin blanket, innocent, sweet looking really. Her Majesty, Ashelia, she has her own cot, out of respect and because it would be... odd to expect her to share with either Balthier or him. There is one other empty cot, Fran's, when she's not piloting the Strahl.

Then there's Balthier, already laying in the cot they've shared when they aren't taking a night in a nearby town or city. Basch is careful as he moves to sit on the very edge, not that there's much room, removing his shoes and shoulder guard, not comfortable for sleeping, before laying down. Back against the sky pirate's he stares over across the way at the children, at Ashelia, quiet, contemplative as he tries to ignore the still odd feeling of another body against his.

He doesn't want to disturb Balthier, more than he may have already, letting him keep the blanket so far, he's not cold anyway, he tends to run warm as is, so Basch closes his eyes attempting to let sleep take him. Not an easy feat, sleep is hardly ever pleasant for him.]

Well, more accurately, Lily is trying to sleep. She has been trying to sleep since she fell into bed exhausted, had managed to doze for a while until someone had decided to also come to bed. Which means the cat tries to horn in on the whole thing, clambering all over the bed and meowing sulkily until he gets attention, which naturally means that she has to sit up and cradle him in her arms and smother him with kisses because he is the best fluffy child and/or anniversary present and crooning Regulus while sitting in the bed she shares with Rodolphus isn't weird at all. Nope.

Why the fuck did you name their cat Regulus, Rodolphus.

Anyway eventually the cat is satisfied and wanders off into the night to be a little monster elsewhere so she sighs and flops back onto the pillows, arms over her face. Maybe, just maybe, she can get some sleep. ]

[ It's still a bit odd this arrangement, if that's what one would call it, between them. It certainly isn't a relationship, at least, it doesn't read as such in conventional terms. Though convention is hardly the guiding principle of Newt's life. While he appreciates rules and order, he has little regard for foolishness, and most people, wizards especially, are certainly that in regards to the creatures that he looks after.

Simply a show of fangs is enough to set most alight with fear and upset. Silly, really. Most of these feared creatures are definitely more afraid of those who happen upon them, and only reacting to as much. Even scary beasts are afraid sometimes.

All that aside, his own particular scary beast (at least he's seen handfuls of American aurors scurry away at mere mention of him ), isn't such a terrifying menace. For the most part, anyways. Still, it isn't common for him to sleep well in a normal bed, and this bed is quite more plush than his little nook under his work bench in his shack. Even after a few long hours, or most of the day spent taking care of the creatures in his case, it isn't enough to exhaust him to the point of restful sleep.

It should come as little surprise that he's scrunched up, tense long limbs tucked close to his chest, and with one of the thinner blankets drug up over his shoulders. He isn't sleeping, but he's at least not moving, so he supposes that is enough. Perhaps if he keeps at it, sleep will come.

Or perhaps he'll sneak back into his case once someone else has drifted off. ]
