The annual Beacon Hills Memorial charity gala was a sparkling, glittering, black tie affair, an excuse for the wealthy to mingle and rub shoulders, but at least for a good cause. This year's particular event was dedicated towards fundraising for the pediatrics ward. Talia had a nose for these things, and made contributions yearly. She always did have a hopeless soft spot for children.

Peter's own reasons for attending were far less altruistic, although he had nothing against small children. Charitable donations were a good tax write-off, plus this was an excellent way to make connections.

This evening's event was a masked ball, although the effectiveness of them was questionable, particular with all the daemons in attendance. Any previous acquaintances were likely to recognise a person by them, and a werewolf had an even greater advantage. But, well. The point did seem more to be for the fun of it than any true disguise. Peter did his part in mingling for the better half of the evening until he grew tired of it, slipping back into the crowd, pausing only when he caught a familiar scent.

Calliope at his side lifted her head in perfect sync with him, and they shared a wordless glance before cutting a path towards the unmistakable silhouette of Chris Argent and his own daemon.

A wrought metal mask in a heavy, matte black shot through with silver detailing in the shape of a stylised wolf hid half of his face, but Chris ought to be familiar enough with smooth lilt of Peter's voice to recognise it by ear. "This is an unexpected meeting."

[ charlie is a skilled dancer. a prince must be able to dance with any number of dignitaries, after all, and represent rhodia, be it with speeches or action. of course, earth is a different matter altogether and charlie has not had much reason or opportunity to dance. he doesn't miss it, precisely. he misses his people and his planet, but he doesn't miss the obligation. he doesn't miss dancing or giving speeches or knowing that he is a political pawn, to be used to the benefit of his family and his people, in that order.

but there is a dance now, or what passes for it: a bonfire and some music playing, people swaying to it. it seems like dancing is the thing to do, and charlie is very much trying to fit in. so he catches the gaze of a beautiful boy and moves toward him, holding out his hand. ]
